barb65 Posted October 9, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 9, 2019 Looking at an angled balcony cabin (10784) on Escape. If you've stayed in one of these cabins, is the balcony slightly larger than the other balcony cabins?

worktocruise610 Posted October 9, 2019 #3 Share Posted October 9, 2019 Yes they are, not huge but extra space on the balcony for no more money, I'd go for it
bob brown Posted October 9, 2019 #4 Share Posted October 9, 2019 They are a 'bargain' on NCL, since they are in the same category as standard balcony's adjacent...unlike RCL, which puts them in a higher category....
Two Wheels Only Posted October 9, 2019 #5 Share Posted October 9, 2019 You can see the extra space on the balcony in this picture. Being deeper on one side gives the extra space. Some angled balconies "face" another angled balcony (10258 and 10276) while some face forward (10184) and others face aft (10296) with a clear view along the remainder of the ship. 10784 is the starboard version of 10184. gmbhardy Posted October 9, 2019 #6 Share Posted October 9, 2019 We’ve stayed in many angled balconies and they are great. Extra space and you can even request a lounger from your room steward (don’t forget to tip).
davy jones Posted October 9, 2019 #7 Share Posted October 9, 2019 They are about 50% larger than the tiny standard balconies.
Rare Nclgetawaymenhoney Posted October 9, 2019 #8 Share Posted October 9, 2019 We got luck on one of our advantage upgrade bids and had one one Escape, so nice room for lounger 2 chairs n tiny table. Our upcoming bliss cruise we have a beautiful angled balcony on deck 10 forward, great hidden deal
LrgPizza Posted October 9, 2019 #9 Share Posted October 9, 2019 We always get angled, and have been in them on Escape 3 times. Plenty of room for a lounger with your chairs. It's the best bargain on the ship.
KarlChilders Posted October 9, 2019 #10 Share Posted October 9, 2019 as others have said, we have had one on both Getaway and Escape, and have one reserved for our upcoming Getaway cruise. Nice bit of extra room for no extra charge.
swmichigan cruiser Posted October 9, 2019 #11 Share Posted October 9, 2019 We have had them a lot and besides the bigger balcony size if you have a forward facing one the view to me is another great reason to get one. In my opinion a lot better than a standard side facing cabin. We have one coming up on the Getaway for 18 nights on a TA April 2021.
luckyinpa Posted October 9, 2019 #12 Share Posted October 9, 2019 you get to see a lot more people and they see you too 🙂
Rare JamieLogical Posted October 9, 2019 #13 Share Posted October 9, 2019 I always stay in an angled balcony (except for my first cruise when I didn't know better and my most recent cruise when I sailed in an aft balcony). You get half again as much square footage as a normal balcony, because it is twice as "deep" on one side than the other. The deeper side can accommodate a full sized lounger, so if there is not already on there, I ask my room steward for one on the first day.
Rare JamieLogical Posted October 9, 2019 #14 Share Posted October 9, 2019 PS: I never understood the privacy claims. You have exactly as much private area on your balcony as a normal sized one... maybe even more because of the extra privacy of the longer wall from one direction. If you stand out at the deepest part of the railing, people on the shorter end of the balcony can see you, but if you are seated in a chair back towards your door, they can't see you any more than they can see you when you are seated in a chair on a normal balcony.
TifffanyD Posted October 9, 2019 #15 Share Posted October 9, 2019 I always book the angled balcony! They are great and you get a wider view

yearsofcruising Posted October 9, 2019 #19 Share Posted October 9, 2019 we've had angled balconies and adjacent balconies. Truth is , on a port day, i'm off the ship and if at sea , I'll find a lounge on an upper deck , nice and quiet anyways...

Mrs. H. Posted October 10, 2019 #24 Share Posted October 10, 2019 I had the angled balcony on the Breakaway a few years ago. Didn't like it too much. Was disappointed at the blocked view on one side and being able to see all the balconies on the other side.
