Jenalorrainex Posted October 22, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 22, 2019 How strict is royal Caribbean with kids club? Me and my sisters family are going on a cruise in November and between the 4 kids three will be over 3 besides my 2.5 year old. She is fully potty trained. I just think she would have a much better time with her brother and cousins rather than by herself. So has anyone Had experience with this? Thanks! Clarea Posted October 22, 2019 #2 Share Posted October 22, 2019 They can be very strict. Depends on the number of children in each age group. You won't know until you get onboard.
MechE31 Posted October 22, 2019 #3 Share Posted October 22, 2019 They tend to be very strict with the 3 year old minimum age to enter the kids club. They may have some flexibility between age groups depending on numbers once they reach the magic 3 years old.
Merion_Mom Posted October 22, 2019 #4 Share Posted October 22, 2019 It's going to be a hard "no" on the 2 1/2 year old.
Norwich Cruiser Posted October 22, 2019 #5 Share Posted October 22, 2019 Unfortunately for you I don’t think you’ve any chance with the two and a half year old but always worth asking.
gerif Posted October 22, 2019 #6 Share Posted October 22, 2019 If she was say a week away from turning three you just might have a shot but six months, no way.
GarlicBread Posted October 22, 2019 #7 Share Posted October 22, 2019 Official answer, no. But there is a tiny chance, but depending on numbers and people onbaord, and be prepared to pay for a trial in the nursery so the staff can see how potty trained, how good communication is and how good rule following is. They have the final say. Adventure ocean is an activities based programme.
GalwayGirl03 Posted October 22, 2019 #8 Share Posted October 22, 2019 I am going to say no chance at all. My son was going to be three 2 days after we got home and they said no way no how and we still had to pay nursery. Sorry!!!
BNBR Posted October 22, 2019 #9 Share Posted October 22, 2019 Carnivals program is 2-5 and no potty training requirements. Anyone else booking and needing camp for a 2 year old should heavily consider Carnival over Royal. Our experience on Royal is the same as others said. They are not flexible with the age requirement. Grandma Dazzles Posted October 22, 2019 #10 Share Posted October 22, 2019 You can ask, but probably will be told no. It’s probably an insurance liability issue. Program begins at age 3.
davekathy Posted October 22, 2019 #11 Share Posted October 22, 2019 No, as it should be.
lmp29 Posted October 22, 2019 #12 Share Posted October 22, 2019 (edited) I have to disagree with those saying it is a hard no, based on our experience. We sailed on the Harmony in May with my granddaughter who was not yet three and asked about moving her up to the next level because she had been completely potty-trained for around six months and is in the "older kids" group at her daycare. They were overwhelmed with the number of children sailing that were nursery-aged so they allowed her to move up. Note: child must be able to go to restroom alone, without assistance Edited October 22, 2019 by lmp29 missing info
matj2000 Posted October 22, 2019 #13 Share Posted October 22, 2019 Your kids are not required to be part of the childrens program. It is completely optional. Wait until you are on the ship. They might not even want to go..

Some of them are kinda tiny to be able to climb up onto the pot all by themself... (I’m Grimacing at the thought of a little tyke grabbing all over the toilet seat & then running back into the play area and touching all the Legos...)

Yes, the MUST be able to potty completely independently - including pulling clothing up and down and wiping. AO staff will not help them. They have kid size potties I believe. I would say yes, the preschool my kids attended at required it. At home we had a stool.
