$150.00 each. $300.00 per stateroom. The four bundled perks you can choose from are for two.

We always book in CAD but our OBC is always in USD.

What can you use OBC for? just product or can you do cabin tips with it? book specialty restaurants? top up classic bvg to premium onboard?

Anything that can be charged to your account can be paid for by the OBC. It's simply a credit to the account, and you don't need to specify where you are directing it. The only thing to remember is that if the OBC is from Celebrity as a perk it is non-refundable; if you don't spend it, you lose it. But it will be the first money debited from your account, so if your purchases and expenses onboard amount to $300 (in your case), you'll break even, but it they amount to only $290, you forfeit the other $10.

For extra gratuities (in addition to the regular auto-gratuities) you can fill out a form at Guest Services and have an extra gratuity amount charged to your account - thereby making use of your OBC. There are several categories that you can assign your extra gratuities to. However, the food service category is all inclusive - you cannot use it to give to a specific waiter. So I only used it to give extra to my cabin attendant.

We usually add the  standard grats to.our bill before final payment but are wary of changing anything on our bookings due to the new gotcha rules..

We'll use OBC to cover the grats this time..and will tip any extra in cash  to our cabin attendant .

not sure how to handle the  dining rm staff...we have the 4 mdr plan and imagine we will have diff wait staff each night.  Any suggestions?

You could tip each night.

Direct from Celebrity's website (and yes the OBC is in US$):

https://www.celebritycruises.com/blog/onboard/how-to-use-cruise-onboard-credit-like-a-pro

Although it is not mentioned, we always use our OBC in the casino.   You tell the cashier at the casino you want to transfer $ from your OBC over to your casino account and they will do it.   But you have to spend anything your transfer from your OBC to the casino in the casino or you lose it.    If you play machines, you insert your card (already loaded by the cashier with whatever amount you indicated), type in your PIN and then transfer the amount you want to the machine where it shows up as credits.    And you have to play off the transferred OBC credits on your machine, you cannot cash them out.  However, once you have played the amount of credit you transferred to your machine (say, $20), you can cash in once you have actually played the $20.   It's very easy so I hope I didn't make this sound too complicated.

If you have Celebrity-issued OBC, it will show up in your account before and can use it to buy excursions, internet (need to call if you have an applicable Captain’s Club discount), beverage package (if not gotten as a perk) - upgrading can be done by phone I know, possibly online closer to the cruise... Basically anything in your planner that has a fee can be reserved using Celebrity-issued OBC.

Think of it as a deposit to your bank account, or a payment to a credit card account.

You don't specify what it will be used for when you deposit the money.

It just gets applied to pay for any charges you make on that account.

Similarly,  OBC is simply a deposit  (i.e., a credit) to your shipboard account.

You can't specify that it should be used to pay for this or that.

The result is that it can be used to pay for anything that you can charge to your shipboard account.

Using the examples you listed:

You can pay for specialty restaurants because they can be charged to your shipboard account

You can pay for cabin tips that can be charged to your shipboard account

but not for any tips that cannot be charged directly to your account.

(Guest relations has a form that specifies which tips can be charged.)

You can pay to purchase or top up a beverage package because those costs can be charged to your shipboard account

The reason why you cannot use OBC to pay for a deposit on a future cruise is that it cannot be charged to your shipboard account.

Just about anything else that you buy on the ship can be charged to your shipboard account; therefore it can be paid for with OBC,
