I have racked my brains to think of someone who is a singer, songwriter, producer and performer as per the email received today from P&O. What about NEIL SEDAKA although I know he's American? Just a thought.

I think they might want someone who is likely to live a bit longer than Sedaka, and who will appeal to the under 40s rather than the over70s.

The last time I was on Oceana they had the semi resident jazz band (Ivana Safranova?) playing in the atrium to an audience of about 20. Much better when they were in the larger venues.

Oh no --- off to the balcony with a nice cocktail me thinks ;-)

From the latest description I'm now thinking Gary Barlow.

I think I thought Gary Barlow from the start --- now I could listen to him --- as long last Robbie joined in !!!

I can't open any of the links though at all !!!!!

Both short video clips are on P&O's facebook page - and you don't have to have an account to view it.

My guess is Mark Ronson to headline Ionafest. If I am right, it doesn’t bother me because I am not on the Ionafest cruise.

I would actually be impressed if it was someone as "current" as Mark Ronson!

I've been following this but not expecting to be massively impressed. However I am. Gary Barlow is well know and very easy to listen to.

Does this mean he will actually perform on the ship or is he digital like Gareth Gates?

I think the musical director title suggests he will have input but doubt he will be on many cruises after the naming one...

He could probably still sell out Wembley, so not sure a theatre on a ship could be cost effective for him.

I think his interests have switched to the West End, so hopefully he will shake up the whole theatre/show set up for P&O.
