Washy Washy in the Casino?

Money in everyday life travels around the world. It's been used to snort cocaine.  I Have seen it come out wet from a bathing suit pocket, pulled out of a women's bathing suit top and let's not for forget about where it's stuffed at erotic dance clubs.  If there was a dollar bill on the filthy floor or in the gutter you germaphobes would be doing a nose dive to scoop it up.

Might help if you were the only person handling the chips but that is not the case at all.  Would need to do cards for the card games and the dice and the ……..

The same goes for elevator buttons, hand rails and lots of things.

The best you can do is hand sanitizer and then a hot hand washing when you can.

It is rare to see anyone sanitizing arm rests or parts of chairs or stools that we put our hands on all the time when we sit and adjust our chairs in the buffet or MDR or any lounge or bar...

Hands and fingers OUT OF the old pie hole.. LOL

Not a germaphobe, just curious. I figured one of the knowledgeable and helpful folks on this forum would know the answer. Thank you, Knighton.

What is the nature of your question? I would be more concerned breathing the second hand smoke that comes from the nasal passages of the passengers who smoke. How often do they wipe off the nicotine deposits from the walls counters and machines? I can tell you that they don’t empty the ash trays as often as they should.

Probably the worst are the touch screens throughout the ship - especially in the photo shop.

Also, don't forget the nasty menus that get used over and over at restaurants that don't get cleaned....

derorim, I'm glad I could answer your question.  Too bad others chimed in with snarky rude unhelpful comments.  I guess they have nothing better to do than add to their post count.  Enjoy your cruise!

I worked in a highschool cafeteria girls pulled it from their sweaty bras and boys pulled it from their sweaty socks. It WAS pretty nasty!

But seriously, since the chips are handled by lots of people, does the casino have any procedures for sanitizing them?

There's really no point; every time a new person sits down at a table, they'd have to rewash the chips, which obviously doesn't make sense.  Washing them once a week or even once a day would be pointless, given the number of players and dealers who touch them and the constant turnover of both throughout the day.

Well...it is gambling.  ;)

Seriously, would you expect them to sanitize the chips every hand?  After all, if you win a hand you're probably getting chips that the dealer collected from other players.  For that matter, does the dealer sanitize in-between hands?  And what about the cards themselves?
