Not going to happen Mic, no way USA and UK/Europe will get the numbers down to an acceptable level in the next 8 months. Still plenty of covid people running around there infecting every body, vaccine or no vaccine and as has been said on here, many will not accept the vaccine. Be like the Day of the Triffids. Us and them.

Oops I forgot about Cunard.  They have around 6 Mel to Mel voyages with QE2 scheduled from late Dec 2021.

We've booked to do a QE cruise then. It's a combo cruise that starts and ends in Sydney but goes to Melbourne during the first part then probably goes back to Mebourne after dropping us Sydney folk off. It's a Christmas/NY cruise, replacing the one we had booked for January 2021.

If international travel does start up then it will be on a country to country basis, mostly Asian countries I imagine.

It (the reference) was us travelling out of Australia, not them coming here.

When I was in Manhattan overnight on a cruise ship, my NY girlfriend and I went to see Jersey Boys again as it was the only show on on a Monday night.  She was surprised to hear me laugh a lot.  Being a local, it was all normal to her.

My daughter and I saw Jersey Boys at the Princess Theatre in Melbourne about 10 years ago, really enjoyed it. The music is great.

Disappointing, but not unexpected health conclusion - from Cruise Weekly 24 Nov edition: 

 

"THE Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has updated its advice regarding cruising to Level 4, meaning it believes going on a cruise risks a “very high level of COVID-19”.The move comes despite the CDC’s recently issued Framework for Conditional Sailing (CW 01 Nov), a range of recommendations that would allow cruising to gradually resume under carefully controlled health and safety conditions:

And that would be very true of cruises leaving from the US at present if there were any cruise lines stupid enough to try it.

Taiwan has had cruises for months - Taiwanese residents only - Singapore about to start up.  I can see cruising starting up as vaccination becomes common - with a requirement for vaccination before you board - just like Qantas says they will require for international flights https://www.scmp.com/lifestyle/travel-leisure/article/3094818/no-casino-spa-or-buffet-cruises-resume-taiwan-social
