Morning everyone.

I am getting very jealous of all your warm temps. The best they expect us to reach today is 13c. Last time there was a heat wave we missed out too😔 Oh well, being positive it's dry and the sun is shining.

Good luck with your second jab Kalos and glad to hear that Purdey is feeling better today.

Take care and stay safe

Morning all; Morning Kalos - Happy jabbing.  Ours was Friday.  We reacted more than the first one, both with sore arms & himself with a couple of hours of chills/fever o’night.  Nothing very much though and obviously well worthwhile.

We’ve had lots of distractions though, with lovely weather and the children and granddaughters for the weekend.  We’ve felt almost normal and have absolutely loved eating out, outside, on Fri, Sat, Sun and yesterday!  Bloody marvellous, such a mood lifter.

Pic of yesterday’s “seafood extravaganza”, eaten overlooking the harbour in Weymouth, below.  We weren’t the only ones grabbing the opportunity , it was very busy and bustling all weekend and so good to see 🙂 not 😕 on people’s faces

It’s sunny again this morning but today will be quieter, with plenty of dog walking and back to the kitchen - can’t eat out all the time

It sounds as though there has been a lot of family reunions and enjoying of weather as lockdown eases a little. 🤞for further progress

Have a good day all - here’s my lunch from yesterday

Good afternoon everyone, I thought that I would check in because I haven't been around much last week.  I have been vaccine stewarding 3 mornings a week for the last 2 weeks but I have a lazy day today before a stewarding again tomorrow.

I am glad so many of you are getting your second jabs now, hopefully you will be able to get out  a bit more soon.  I can't believe how many people are prepared to sit outside pubs when it is not particularly warm.

I heard the news this morning about India being on the government red list and I wonder whether this will impact P&O's restarts so many of the staff are Indian.

Stay safe.

Well day 3 of the birthday ‘staycation’, so far the weather has been kind. Sunday was Cleveleys and then onto Bowness on Monday with a stop in Lancaster. Great lodge location on the banks of Lake Windermere and today a glorious start and back on the water with a trip to Ambleside.

Doctor's surgery just rang to ask David if he would like to bring his 2nd jab forward to tomorrow, 17 days earlier than his 12 week appointment so a good call  😀😀

That's good news for David.

Did he get the Pfizer or AZ for his first vaccine ?.

Had my first beer of 2021 in a pub garden today. Ever so simple.

1. Checked in using my NHS CV19 track and trace app.

2. Logged onto the pub wifi

3. Downloaded the pub menu using the QR app on my phone

4. Ordered my pint from the menu app.

5. Paid for my beer by credit card using my phone.

6. Took my beer off the tray that was brought out to me by a member of the bar staff - no idea why they do that, as the chances of contracting CV19 from trace surface contact is infinitessimal.

It took me longer to order my pint than drink it!

Anyway, my pint of Timothy Taylor's Landlord bitter was excellent, the sun was shining, and best of all, my wife had decided that waiting 20 minutes to get into Primani was a waste of time!

Hopefully one day I can just walk up to the bar and order a pint.

Nice photos Pete - makes me think back to my student years, living in a basement flat in Morecambe looking across the bay to the lake district.

Morning everyone:classic_smile: A nice morning here already 7.c and we will have a more cloudier

day getting up to around 13.c for us.

Yesterday went ok with the jab and same as last time the Astra jab caused me no issues

whatsoever and as Mrs K was driving me back home, I was not made to wait the ten minutes

after the jab. Thank you to the jabber team.:classic_love:

It pleases me to see people are now getting out and about again and as posted ,it must feel

like starting a star-ship up to order a pint .Scan this, click that, enter  drinks menu and so on .

Roll on the days when you can just simply waft a fiver under the barmaids nose, hopefully

one day it will happen again. The tray thing when sat outside though was happening in beer

gardens before the covid era began in a lot of beer gardens we have used ,we didn't have to

take the beer off the tray ourselves though . I wish I could take a pint off a tray and drink it

but those days are sadly past for me due to medical reasons ,so anyone lucky enough to

be sat having a pint have one for me while your at it .

I know we have to adapt to things due to covid and rightly so but some things just make me

smile and shake my head and think who comes up with these idea's ? :classic_unsure:

I was reading through the papers to find that they have come up with the idea of having a

"Town Crier" contest to see who is the best by keeping their gobs shut and not shouting :classic_wacko:

Strange but true !   To me they could also hold a swimming contest and drain the pool

and just pretend to swim while they are at it . I will put a link below so you can read all

about it . I hope you all have a great day and stay safe

Morning Kalos.

I'm happy to hear your vaccine jab went ahead without any problems.

The sun has just come out here but it is breezy making the temperature feel colder than the 6°C the thermometer says.

We are hoping to see our Sarah later for a pub garden lunch so I will give you a toast with my Lime&Soda with the girls who will be having a red wine and a white wine.

Graham.

Our lunch in a marquee at a golf club was excellent.I had a 2 course lunch,a pint of Stella and I shared a bottle of Pinot Grigio with my OH's friend. All brought over on a tray but placed on table by staff, also face to face service. The marquee was only open for the entrance and enclosed everywhere else but there were openable flaps all round.I suppose that gets round the rules unlike the poor sod who built his "chalet" in the pub garden only for the council to reject it.Cheers,Brian.

Sounds a bit dodgy to me. If the openable flaps were closed, what is the difference between that and being inside a pub / restaurant with the door open? I presume they did their research on what constitutes a pub garden in the open air because it could be a costly error if they didn’t. Glad you enjoyed it though.

I thought that I read somewhere that at least 50% of the sides of any outdoor structures had to be open. The pub gardens that I have been to recently seem to reflect that.

That's my understanding as well. Having closed walls in a marquee is illegal, and contravenes current legislation.

Good morning everyone, Andy & Michelle. There's a big change in the weather here today, overcast, breezy and cold. It says the temperature is 8c, with a feel of 7c, but I don't believe that for a minute🥶. I'm pleased you've no reaction to your 2nd jab Kalos and hope that Mrs Kalos will soon have hers.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're up to and take care.

Avril

Good morning, weather not so bright and warm today, oh well it was good while it lasted and should be better tomorrow.

An exciting start when my TA called at 0845 to say my Arvia cruise, Jan 23, Sou to Antigua, 22 nights was booked. Excellent service, balcony cabin we wanted on port side, premium seating on return flight and coach from Man to Sou to join the ship. it was even on the Personalizer before 9AM !

Stay safe.

Lime and soda .. We know how to party but in our case it's needs must mate .

As you and Avril have said it's great that everyone seems to be getting the vaccine

asap and We can thank our jabbers for that . Even though Andy is not posting I hope

his Michelle has got her other jab due to her serious condition and any other of our

posters in a similar situation come to that. Seeing it's a cool day I think it's a day

indoors but will amuse myself with the new A7 tablet I have bought . My laptop I

could operate in my sleep but enjoying finding where things are located in the

tablet. Got it as a back up to the PC and am pleased with it overall.

Sad to read in the papers that Jim Steinman who wrote the songs for Meatloaf has

passed away , makes you feel old when half of your musical era has gone to the other

side .:classic_mellow:
