I usually have a turkey crown from M&S, but this year I have a couple of smaller M&S turkey joints already in the freezer.

We normally collect the turkey crown a couple of days before Christmas, but decided to do it differently this year, just to avoid any crowds

I have my turkey crown ordered with Asda as well as a side of salmon to be delivered on 23rd. l got the same last year an it was lovely.

... it’s only 2 weeks till the afternoons stop getting shorter!  🎉

Absolutely. Spring’s not that far off either.

In Tromso, they last saw the sun a couple of days ago and it won’t reappear for several weeks. I’d hate that. The Scandinavian celebrations when it reappears are no surprise!

The post lady has just delivered our first Christmas card this year, my school friend Barbara has obviously decided to get ahead of the rest of us  lol.

No Christmas card this morning, just a card telling us we need to give them £1.50 for a letter with insufficient postage paid on it. No idea who has sent it or whether we want it, but having paid £1.50 online, we have to wait until Tuesday to find out.

For anyone worried about buying a Christmas dinner  there is

an easy way to have the meal . Very exclusive, so exclusive

that even M&S struggle to get their hands on it .

What you want is 🌲 TINNER WINNER  🌲   the high scoring dinner

Great stuff. 6 tins ordered from Amazon. Christmas solved. 🤮

😄The memories.  I loved Blue Nun, it made you feel oh so sophisticated. Then came Lambrusco😁 We were so 'with it'.

Avril

Then there was rum and black, Scotch and coke (sorry, Eglesbrech!), brandy and Babysham, Snowballs, Leibfraumilch, Mateus Rose.🤢

What were we thinking!!??

We loved Thoresby Hall, you are tempting us...

We thought as we can't cruise at the moment and others on this forum had mentioned Warners(and particularly the hotels) we would give it a try. With 3 course meals, entertainment(Lionel Ritchie Tribute), it will hopefully be a bit like a cruise without the sea sickness!!

Not to mention Watneys draught red barrel.

Not to mention the two cubes of cheddar and a silver skin onion impaled  on

a cocktail stick , balanced on a Ritz cracker , with a bowl of ready salted crisp:classic_love:

We really knew how to party back then

You are not allowed party 7, even in tier 3. Only a party 6.

Oh yes I can ,if you shook the tin you got bubbles , and you are allowed things like that

if you are dependant on them within your bubble :classic_wink:🍻🍺

Oh yea I forgot about tinned sausages and cheesy stuff out of a tooth paste tube .

I used to get scared to go near them cocktail sticks . They used to stack them up

high on a paper plate . Trying to get one off without a lump of cheese falling off

the stick was a nightmare . It was like a game of Kerplunk , one false move and

it was game over . Better to let others go first , that way I never got the blame .:classic_unsure:

Ah, I forgot the Party 7s that the chaps used to wheel along to parties.😊

Which were convertible into pretty comfortable seating with a couple of bits of ply and some padding! I should know - we couldn’t afford chairs when we first got married. 4 London telephone directories (remember those) served the same purpose.
