Bailey & Sophie Posted November 2, 2020 #2002 Share Posted November 2, 2020 I am the fiduciary for my mom's VA pension. My dad was in the Navy and she was able to apply for spouse benefits. She is now in memory care at the Minneapolis Veterans Home which is close to us. Several weeks ago I got a call from the Milwaukee Veterans Intake Center wondering if she was still alive. (This was a VA employee asking about a person living in the VA system. Go figure.) So after the conversation I was sent a packet of info to be filled out so they can determine if her payment should be adjusted. I sent 60 pages. I haven't heard anything yet. A couple of days later I received a packet of info for her annual fiduciary accounting. 160 pages. That's not a typo. 160 pages. I got the news today that it was approved. Whew! That's my lockdown news.

DaniDanielle Posted November 2, 2020 #2004 Share Posted November 2, 2020 It is okay, not the same. A lot of things are closed. The Club we go to, similar to the Diamond Lounge, is closed during the week now. They seem to be keeping the casinos clean and safe though. Milwaukee Eight Posted November 3, 2020 #2006 Share Posted November 3, 2020 Last weekend in February, we plan to host a Civilian Motorcycle Challenge (Rodeo). We already have 100 signed up. Today, we began setting/testing patterns for the Challenge. Today we set up the B for Bruce Rossmeyer. Next we will work on the R. We were asked to assist the Daytona Beach PD Motor School starting tomorrow. So we will he making a run to the DIS (Daytona International Speedway) in the morning. Sometimes it would sit for weeks at a time. The assisted living place paid the fee and I was given a dedicated phone contact who really helped. I really had to dig to get some of the info they wanted. Now it's done and if I have to do it again I can just copy what I did but with updates. 1

Rare A&L_Ont Posted November 3, 2020 #2012 Share Posted November 3, 2020 Woke to this... Lucy was keeping one foot up, but she still came down to put Owen on the bus. And the pool plants got cut back today. That’s it for the 2020 pool season. Snow tires tomorrow for me among a few items.

Never heard of Tim Enjoy, dinner. Stay healthy. The neighbor named him. She thought he was a Tina, and then when he grew up, she decided on Timmy. And since he responds to Timmy, we just go with it. It is just a neighborhood turkey and and kind of annoying wildlife. We have a lot of that here, deer eating the landscape, racoons, skunks, opossums, foxes, many coyotes, bobcats, wild pigs and occasional mountain lions. It does look suburban though, doesn't it? There is open space all around us. Edited November 3, 2020 by Coralc

Tim responds by name so he should come easily for the dish, but Bugs Bunny didn’t just lay down so it could be a challenge.🤔😂
Milwaukee Eight Posted November 3, 2020 #2017 Share Posted November 3, 2020 (edited) 8 hours ago, Domino D said: That is a tight little course. That’s just one pattern we are working on for the Rodeo. Typically, the course will take 90-120 seconds to run for the good riders. The key is to not touch a cone. Each touch adds +2 seconds to the run. Foot down, +5 seconds. Clean runs get time bonus. -5 seconds for each clean run. Two timed runs, both clean, -5 seconds. So if you have 2 clean runs, you get a 15 second bonus (deduction from total time). It pays to run clean. There is a saying, Riding is not Practicing. He is on my bike though. Lol M8

In the spring some people would drive the cars on to the frozen lake and abandon them. If they didn't get towed away in time, you go out in the spring and watch them sink in to the lake. That's funny. There must be a huge pile of them by now. 21 hours ago, John&LaLa said: I learned to dive in an abandoned lead mine. Very clear water. DH also lost his cousin over there. DH had just 6 weeks left to his tour, he was sent to Delaware to escort his cousin's body back to S.I. After the funeral, DH was sent back to Viet Nam to finish his tour. Horrible. NYC did, after many, many years, hold a parade for the Viet Nam Veterans. Our daughters were quite young, but got to see their dad march up Broadway.... 3

And grocery store turkeys are so inexpensive, that hopefully, no one would consider harming him.
