Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Going to finish off yesterday’s reports.

Late afternoon we went to the Jerk Shack (not a euphemism just in case your mind went there) and had some mild pork, chicken, fried dumplings and bread.

Jamaican mild sauce which came pre-applied was beyond this Canadian’s taste buds. I tried the extra mustard looking dipping sauce and that was pure heat. @Jimbo I was thinking it must be last dab quality of sauce. I immediately locked the dipping container as it immersed my mouth with a burning favour.

We had dinner at a place called the American Tavern last night, to which I keep wanting to call the American Icon. Food photos are posted sideways thanks to CC. We are lucky it didn’t slide off the table. LOL

Apps Meatballs.

I had the not traditional surf and turf. Brisket and lobster.

Looks like senior portions....Hope the price was accordingly?

Seems every cook or kitchen have a  different heat index, you just never know how hot , hot is?

Since dinner wasn’t enough we got some ice cream on the walk back to our cabin. Oops, I mean room.

This resort is going downhill. Clearly this rum has been ruined.

Does that  Lazy river pool flow right behind people's rooms on the  ground level, if so not sure I would like that as far as privacy.

You would get along well with Susan.  She gets her hamburger, then discards the onion, tomato, lettuce, pickles, bun….  Essentially just eating the meat.

Whenever the waiter comes by and sees what looks like an untouched burger on her plate, they ask if there was something wrong with her meal.

She use to order burgers with no bun, until we ate at one place that charged extra to have a burger without the bun.  That one made no sense to me.

They were !!! The "chef's" secret is adding some lamb meat+fat into the mix.

And, of course, the youngest grandkid asked that all traces of the minced onions will be eliminated from his patty....

Amazing how quickly did you find that BK vintage.... 1974. You really nailed it 🤪

They are actually swim out rooms for guests on the main level. Their verandas lead right out to them. Anyone can swim or float in them but basically everyone hangs at the larger pools. Just think of it as a good way to up-sell the room.

Google really nailed it.  I started typing "hold the pickl" and there was a suggested search for "hold the pickle hold the lettuce".  I clicked on that and the YouTube video was the first thing returned.  Google can be scary sometimes.

Sure thing.

[DH says that those who eat the hamburger without the bun & all the extras (meaning Susan and I) should be banned from even entering a hamburger place, since we're "offending" the whole meaning of hamburger !!!]

She used to order burgers with no bun, until we ate at one place that charged extra to have a burger without the bunHappened to me too, and since then I just remove the bun "after"...

That one made no sense to me. So true, but there you have it.

We never like being on the ground floor of any hotel or resort, always ask for  higher floor, security and privacy issue with us.

I hear you on all accounts. There is night security here on the beach and resort. Personally we like the balcony rooms with the better view of the water.

Our view from the balcony.

Cool picture, what I like about the Sandals we normally book is every room has a ocean view, all the ones we stay at are in Jamaica, higher end have butlers like some of the cruise suites.

I’m lucky enough to say that I’ve been calling our Butlers Genies, at least to Lisa. I’m still in cruise mode in some aspects. RC is still travelling with us though. Secretly wish the pool here was rocking back and forth like on the ship.

Drinks by the pool at 10:45 is a good life. We walked the beach first so it should pass as allowable.

The first time I caught Covid the doctor was trying to determine if I was eligible to get the antibodies (think that is what it was called).  He asked if I had weighed myself lately. I said yes, 190.  I heard him mumble, obese, then he looked up and said, ok we can get you in tomorrow morning!  😂

to make you feel better my understanding was to be eligible for the monoclonal antibody that has been in "emergency use" during covid a patient had to meet one of the "high risk" categories.    Obese or overweight is one of the "high risk" categories so he basically had to check off a box on his form for you to be eligible to receive the treatment.  😁

Two negative Covid tests just now. Time to get serious about packing for Sunday. It’s SOOOOO much easier (and cheaper) driving 3 hours to the port rather than flying in the day before, paying for a hotel, getting transportation to the port, etc. we can also load up on stuff that we wouldn’t otherwise fly with like big bottles of suntan lotion, saline solution, etc.

I also just took our pictures and uploaded vaccine results in the app. I remember others saying they had a problem doing this. No problem for us.

Congratulations!     Happy Dance!!

Yes, driving to port is sooo much easier.

I wish you both a wonderful sailing with smooth seas and Great weather!!!

Have fun🤩

Love that a kitty is hanging out on patio for you and Lisa!

That is really cool that someone with first floor can walk out of room right into the lazy river.

Looks like a beautiful resort.    Thank you for your pictures.    🤩

Agree, I would love being able to walk out of room and get into lazy river but I would Not like the lack of privacy and lack of ocean view.

😂 yes, I knew that.  Just thought it was funny.  I guess combined with 65 at the time increased the risk.  I was thankful I got it right away.

I remember years ago when we took or young daughter to this doctor.  As he started the exam he started felling her throat.  The first thing he mumbled….. Could be throat cancer…..could be strep throat or flu….then he looked up and said, I believe it’s no more than common cold.  He had our eyes popped out when he started.  He is not like that now.

@Sunshine3601 Did you go check out the phone yet?
Still somewhat windy today but getting warmer.  Just got some more dirt for gardening.  Time to go play.  I love when it warms up.  If this moves up to y’all like it usually does you should be getting warm in the next couple of days.  I was hoping to get some plants out this week.  Night temperature will be in the 50’s after tonight but forecast to drop back into the 30’s towards the end of next week.  Some of my tomatoes are getting too big.  Plan to re-pot a few again.

Bedside manner should be taught in med school (or if it is, many doctors should pay more attention).  When our first child was delivered, the ob/gyn doing the delivery got quite upset because the right kind of forceps weren’t available. They were apparently still in an autoclave being sterilized. NOT something you want to say in front of a 10 day overdue mother who has been in labor for 12 hours, or her very nervous husband who was paying close attention to the “discussion” (read doctor yelling at the nurse).  If any yelling was actually deserved, that was definitely not the time or place.

I actually like that style. That’s just how mine looks when I step out of the shower and towel it off.
