We elected to get the dishwasher with the pocket handle rather then the bar since dishwasher will be in our island and didn't want to catch clothing while working on the island at sink or on both sides of the sink where there will be counter space above dishwasher.

Having had both, much prefer bar. Great towel rack. Never had it impede anything

Our eldest grandson was also allergic to dairy and eggs in early days. He indeed grow out of them. But now turns out he's allergic to pecan, pistachio and walnuts, but not to peanuts...

That's exactly what I was thinking.... I don't remember in my childhood any allergies whatsoever....

Tree nuts for me.  Peanuts are a bean so I was told that is why I can eat peanut butter!  I was the only one I know of that had allergies back in the olden days😳

It sounds like you've got a lot of good times planned while at your shore house, Debbie!  Enjoy!!

We had our storm around 5am this morning.  Lightning and heavy downpours.  Last week we lost power for over 9 hours. Lightening hit an electric wire, which caused a car fire, besides causing the power outage.

Thunderstorms here at 5:30 this morning. Now it is very beautiful but high wind.

G&P, enjoy your new car.

Renault Megan was our first hand car.... We enjoyed visiting different car sellers and trying their cars. The moment I sat in the Megan, I was hooked. Very comfy, and such French chic... We had it until a careless driver, texting while driving, crossed the line and hit our Megan. Our youngest was driving, and, being a security man with some preventive training, he managed to dodge the direct hit, but still found himself upside down in a ditch... Luckily, just cast on his leg for 2 months. The car withstood the hit very well, but the insurance still declared it a total loss!!!

We also rented a Renault Kadjar in our last trip to Italy before Covid, based on the "experience" with the above accident.

Safe travels 😘

Sorry to hear your youngest was in a crash caused by a careless driver in your Renault Megan.

I'm happy that he survived without any really serious injuries.

Renault have a 5star safety rating.

We have had 5 Renault's in the last 19 years.

Finally came in.  I ran out of Peach puree and ordered that and a few other June 1st.  Just came in.  Now I hear a little voice in my head saying..... Make sure you put the lid on the mixer.... make sure you put the lid on the mixer.... 😆 🤣

Have you ever tried using your blender to shred cheese?  I tried it for the 1st time and like the outcome.   I first cut the cheese..... into squares, dropped them in the blender,.... put the lid on 😆 and blended for less than 5 seconds.   It took about a minute to get it all out of the blender.  Clean up was real easy.  Filled the blender halfway with warm water, added a drop of soap and put it on high blend for a minute. Rinsed and done.

That does sound much easier than good old hand shredder/grater.  I was going to try with my food processor but never did.   Thanks for the info🤩

Mai Tai, round 2...

I picked up some Appleton Estate Jamaican Rum to make a Mai Tai, rather than the Bacardi Silver that I used yesterday.  I went to a different liquor store but still could not find true Orange Curacao, so I stayed with the Cointreau that I have.  The taste with the Jamaican rum is so much better, and it looks more like the Mai Tai that I'm used to.  Of course, I floated some Kraken on top.  I also garnished with half a spent lime shell and a sprig of mint...a traditional garnish that is supposed to look like an island (the lime shell) with palm trees (the mint sprig).

The bad thing about being on the west coast, is that happy hour comes so much later here.

I could use one of those about now.

This is our grandkids last day of school (both here in California and back home in PA). Saturday, we fly home with our California grandson for the summer.   As a bonus, both Susan and I tested negative this morning.  I am glad that no one else caught it from me.

Glad to hear it is just a cold, and I hope you get over it soon.

Not to be a bearer of bad news, but I had my “cold” for two days of testing negative, then tested positive on the 3rd day.

I hope it is truly just a cold so it doesn’t impact your cruise.

We saw our grandson a week ago and he had a bad cold.

He had covid about two months ago so pretty sure it was a cold.  I also get Omicron in Feb so hoping I still have some immunity,  my NHS certificate of Recovery is good till the 22nd Aug.

Today the third day for me, I'll test again on Sat and on Sunday we have the supervised test for the  cruise, fingers crossed 🤞  all will be OK

It definitely feels like a cold, I checked symptoms of covid and out of seven symptoms the only one I've got is a runny nose.  No temperature or taste or smell issues or fatigue.
