Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Recommended Posts

Our departure yesterday had a slight delay. No reason given. We were in the pub at tht time, but I went back to the room to get something, and when I looked out, saw we were departing and went out on the balcony to watch, and our USCG escort had a guy up in the bow, in combat gear, manning a big gun.  I don't recall that being a normal occurrence. This guy had a helmet and looked like he was ready for action.

 Just sayin.

That’s concerning. I wonder what that was all about?

I have seen an escort like that many times, especially from Port Everglades.

Interesting change on this week's Wonder sailing.  Just saw this letter posted elsewhere.

May be an image of ticket stub and text

Edit:  Oops, didn't see it posted elsewhere here.  Disregard.

I can't help but wonder if this is the first step to this becoming the D+ and P lounge.

You always see the escort, I do not  recall seeing the gun with a guy ready to use it, that is what I thought was different.

With all of the news media coverage of increased security , just guessing.

I have pictures that I was trying to find from when we sailed from Port Everglades the day of the airshow.  We had an escort and there were multiple other boats surrounding the Navy ships in port.  I am sure it is increased security but I also think, in that port at least, it depends on what other ships are in port.  I have pictures of the guy on the gun waving to everyone as we sailed away.

That’s what I thought as well but wanted to make sure. Hard to keep up with everyone.

It will be crazy and a lot of fun next week when me @Sea Dog, Jennifer @jmh2006, Deb @Momof3gurlz, Larry @Husky1987 join Francis @mo&fran on Adventure next Saturday.

Oh yes, it's going to be a good time for all!😉  I know these things!!!😁

After 911, all of the Staten Island Ferry boats were escorted by the Coast Guard, manning guns.  I would guess that due to the attacks on Israel, everyone is on alert.  I passed an Islamic Mosque last night, and there was a Police car stationed outside.

Try going into the Martini Bar!  You're bound to see them in there!

Probably because there is more and more Diamond Members and the lounges just can't handle the number of people now.

I know that place!!!! Had I known, we could have met up for coffeein the LBV outlets next to the hotel buildings you were staying in. We go there often. In fact I was probably there while you were.

I bought a polo shirt in the US Polo association shop at LBV outlet.

Previous years when Dressbarn and IZOD shops were there we went there regularly.

The Vineland AVE and International drive Premium outlets plus Burlington and several Ross Dress for less outlets were Pauline's favourites and she bought quite a lot of clothes and a pair of beige Ralph Lauren boots.
