Just watched one of the most bizarre, interesting movies, I have ever seen “Poor Things” Emma Stone won the academy award earlier this year for it , very adult with nudity, extremely hard to describe, it is currently on Hulu .

It’s on my list to watch. I hear Emma is fantastic. Watching Baby Reindeer now. Wow that is going to give me nightmares. Makes Glen Close in Fatal Attraction look like a sweetheart.

Why does it have to be a male?

I thought I read this issue on this thread but it must have been elsewhere.  What I read before is there is some danger in men getting blood from women who had been pregnant…even women who perhaps didn’t know they had been pregnant…so it was safer to ask for male blood for men.  Can’t explain the medical reasons.

Thanks to community group phone chats we discover that Princess was visiting us from a farm a mile away. She’s a year old female who took a road trip from neighbours to the east.

They came and picked her up, and Lucy was happy to see her go. Better yet, they also left us some maple syrup from our trees that we let them tap. A win-win for Lucy and us.

Never mind my previous question.  I am used to cats showing up and never leaving.  We seem to be the homeless cat magnet of the neighborhood.

Someone on the rollcall mentioned that too. They said there is a risk of transfusion related acute lung injury (TRALI).

The girls were initially wary…the wheelchair, the cast…the angst.  But things have returned to normal.  Minnie thinks the new chair is for her since they match perfectly!

If any wants to watch a great spy movie. US vs RUSSIA. Watch the movie ANNA. It is on Netflix. And has many twists and turns that you think you have it figured out then BAM, surprise new turn of events.

I have watched it twice and cannot believe how many things I missed the first time.

Enjoy

I did.

I’m kind of bummed because I’m sure I am far enough North and also far out from the light pollution to have enjoyed them but I didn’t know to look for them!  We are in the middle of renovations and I have not read or seen any news in the last few days. I remember the first time I saw them it was so fascinating but that was the one and only time I have seen them around here.

I went out with my phone camera. And I could see the white light, but I just figured it was light from downtown coming up into the hills. There have been lots of fabulous photos. I am sure, that as I get older, I will tell people that I remember seeing the phenomenon. ☺️

What a beautiful picture.  Oliver looks so Regal in a beautiful backyard setting.

I was just going to post the exact same thing.  Regal came to my mind instantly.  That picture is frame worthy for sure.

Our initial plan when we knew we were returning late was going to be room service which is available 24 hours and no charge.

Notice the filet on the menu.  There is also a separate breakfast menu that is left on your bed every evening.

How on earth do you decide what to order?  Will you ever get used to the Windjammer again?

The meaning of Mother’s Day to me.

Being a career woman I got married when I was 35. So time was a priority in starting a family.

However;

My first pregnancy ended in a disaster when I started let’s just say losing massive quantities of blood.  They were unable to save the baby. Being of the medical profession and also being stupid at times. I refused blood transfusions because I did not want any antibodies interfering with a future pregnancy. So I was discharged on iron 4 x a day and not permitted to drive till my Hgb was above 10 ( um it was 6.5).
This emergency happened on Mother’s Day 1992.

We were given the go ahead late summer to start our family.
Then in September I was pregnant. And had a miscarriage on Sweetest day in October.

I hated holidays. And Mothers Day was very emotional for me. We gave up trying. It wasn’t to be.

But on St Patrick’s day 1994. The spouse was sick as a dog. And I suggested we give it one last attempt to work on the job of getting pregnant. Not just a time for us to bond. ( I was looking at cycles on my calendar. I thought I could be ovulating).
He goes. “ I can’t breathe… and you want to………”

I go if we get pregnant we will call the child Ampicillin.

I found out I was pregnant on Good Friday and went into labor on Christmas Eve.
Meet our ampicillin ( Christina). Soon to be 30.

Now. Life happens for a reason.
Had I had those first two children chances are we would have never known Christina.

Meet Ampicillin (Christina)

I am blessed.

I LOVE MOTHERS DAY.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY -

To all who have any role in raising children.

💕

Christina is beautiful.

For you Samsung users... I noticed this morning that I have a UI operating system update available from 6.0 to 6.1. I'm about to do the update. I hope it doesn't screw up my phone.

Not sure why gender specific. The rollcall says they have a donor. One person who tried was told they weren’t needed at this time. Dr google showed a study saying male donations have less risk of mortality. Not sure, hope person got what they needed. No further announcements. Since we didn’t get to Bermuda, we are due in St Marteen at 7am instead of noon. Our course hasn’t changed at all according to the position map on the tv.

Noon would have been a very late arrival. You are much better off getting there at 7 AM.

Glad it all got resolved. I think Lucy would rather be the queen of her domain and have to share it with another cat.

Princess was bowing down to her, and we are definitely her servants.

Us too, that it worked out.

Thankfully we haven’t, but she made herself feel at home. The poor thing had one bad dripping eye.  Had no one claimed her she’d be to the vet for it and to be fixed, but not our concern now.

Is that the Love Course at Barefoot Resort?  Fun course.  I've had to chip sideways with my ball right up against the ruins. 😬

I did that once, getting blasted by a 747 KLM getting ready for take-off. I saw one or two people get knocked down, a few hats and bags being blown in to the sea.

Glad I did it, not sure I'd do it again.

I didn't want the full force of a large jet so I decided to try it with a private jet taking off.  I realized later that the engines on a private jet are often as powerful as full sized commercial jets.  The force immediately knocked me off the rock that I was standing on. Hat blown into the water, sunglasses nearly so.  I was sacrificing everything else but making sure that I held onto the DSLR around my neck.  Glad I did it, definitely won't be doing it again.
