Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Recommended Posts

I have been hearing that the Pfizer 4th (updated with more varient resistance) booster would not be available in the US till at least March.

So at the present moment the 4th shot = 3rd shot at the same dose (or half dose)?........not sure.

I thought you couldn't get a vaccine until a certain amount of time passed since getting covid??

I understand your point but unfortunately, there is no guarantee.

I'm trusting her doctor knows how long and its past that time. If your doctor measured your antibodies twice and both times you were measuring very high and he advised you NOT to get the jab until your antibodies drop, I'd follow the doctors advise. .. lol unless I really wanted to cruise bad NOW. Then I'd ask him if I could get it anyway. You dont trust her doctor to know when the period ends?

Please don't drop out but I understand your reasoning.

Yes, your analogy made sense.
I also see why you’re dropping out.
We could get ourselves into a morass that would take away from the comfort this group gives us.

Some concerts require Covid shots ( not sure about booster currently) I wouldn’t be surprised if you need Covid shots and booster for planes in the future.

Made it home at 8:15am after one pit stop. DD safely arrived in Texas for the Miami of Ohio football game, their playing tomorrow.

She is happily with her husband.

Actually felt great when I got home.

Showered. Walked dogs in the falling snow. Or I should say they walked me.

Started baking my moms recipe for nut keiffels. Now. I never got  a strait answer but I believe the recipe is around 65 years young. Same age as me.

I am bonding with the shepherds.

Stay healthy.

Graham- Thank you for the chuckle ! I just sat down after cleaning the house today and I was glad to catch the video you posted.

DaniDanielle- Marietta- Great photo of those teachers. A sense of humor helps a lot for teachers ! During my thirty - six year career in Elementary School teaching, it was humor that got my colleagues and me through some of the rough days spent in our classrooms. Bless their hearts ( and I truly mean it !).

Ocean Boy- Not meaning to open up any further discussion, but I was also thinking  that this new wave of Covid may be the kind of Covid virus that causes colds. No medical background on my part, but thinking logically. Enough said.

The other night, I heard fire truck horns and sirens getting closer to our street. Thinking about the unfortunate report here a few days ago about a house fire, I went to the living room window to get a good look at the street. The commotion was Santa and Mrs Claus riding on a flat bed truck, being escorted by the Fire Chief’s car, First Responders’ cars and some fire trucks. Our local volunteer fire department was having some fun bringing Santa and his wife around the neighborhood. Very fun and a happy display of the Christmas spirit.

Hoping all who post here get a visit from Santa on Christmas Eve and that your gifts either wrapped in boxes or those you are holding in your hearts arrive in your homes.

Absolutely. That is why I posted previously that I plan to get a baseline in a week or two. Then I would recheck before any further boosters. Why inject more chemicals if levels are holding?

A little more musing... there seems to be some rhetoric that the higher your antibody levels the better, but after  reaching a certain level do you really gain more protection by exceeding that level? Consider this, after you fill up your car's gas tank, if you continue to pump gas it doesn't allow you to drive any farther, the gas just spills onto the ground. Once again, I'm just musing.

https://questdirect.questdiagnostics.com/products/covid-19-antibody-test

Quest labs has been offering the antibody test for the last 1.5 years.     Looks like this one offers the count.   I had one of these done Spring of 2020 and I came back negative at the time.     My insurance did cover the test maybe I will get another one after the holidays just to see where I am at after getting the booster last week.

How do you test for antibody level?  Blood test? Stick up the nostril?

As far as overfilling gas in a car, I don't understand the reason for it. When it clicks full, it's full no matter what the dollar amount is.

Unfortunately, until some concrete, definite info is uncovered, musings are all we have for now.

my antibody test was a standard blood test drawn from arm

they were saying to wait 90-days for some people.     I haven't heard if that applies to booster

Eric had covid Feb 2021 but his transplant doc said don't wait get the vaccine as soon as you can.

Once we were out of quarantine and could schedule an appt. we got the first jab March 5th.

We have a friend who got covid fairly recently. Her doctor is doing tests that measure the level of her antibodies and some number say 300. If she keeps above that level he says dont get the jab. I was at first upset when her husband said his wife wasnt getting the jab so they couldnt cruise, then found out her doctor is measuring her antibody levels. Hmmm

They cant cruise unless she gets the jab when her doctor is advising not to get it.

IMO that is foolish.    They should get vaccinated.

I’m happy to report that little Ellie is Covid negative 😁!

Great news!!  We have to wait until tomorrow for our granddaughter Ava's results.  She had a high temp last night, and it was 102.9 a few hours ago.

My oldest daughter’s family is headed to Disney today and will be there through Christmas. To "help" Santa out, our SIL called Santa and told him.  So Santa decided to come early and they opened gifts from Santa yesterday morning!  Zander and Corrie were so happy and now Santa doesn’t have to find them at Disney!

Love it!!  Thank goodness Santa arrived early with their gifts.  🎄 It sounds like it's a Magical Christmas for Zander and Corrie!
