If by MPLP, you are referring to the "Military Parental Leave Program", I do not recall it being mentioned specifically, but parts of this book would help any reader clearly understand many of the benefits of such a program.

If by MPLP, you are referring to the "More Product, Less Process" approach, then, nope, not at all 😉

MPLP was the Mental Patients Liberation Front ,a political action group in the 1970’s.

White gravy is the kind that goes on chicken-fried steak (as well as biscuits). It’s good!

I love white gravy.  I like it on mash potatoes too.  I guess the only time I prefer brown over white it on beef but I rarely put gravy on beef.

Oh... I had never heard of it.  But, no, there was also no mention of that MPLP.

Ok - please educate me - what’s Crappie?

It is a very good mild tasting fish.  Although I heard of people catching them while I lived in Ohio it was rare.  Down south they are everywhere. Around here you have to catch them to eat them.  They are not a commercial fish.  Here's a pic

Crappie is yummy!  Had crappie for dinner Saturday night at the lake house.  Fresh water fish pretty small.  Most are about 1 pound.

jc

One of the ponds behind my house has crappie in it.  It's been too long since I fished it.  My DD keeps saying I need to go catch some!

First fish I ever caught was a Crappie.  I caught in on the lake near our cabin in Northern Michigan.

As a kid in Indiana, my grandpa and I would go fishing for bluegill and crappie.  Very fond memories.

Glad you and John's family are okay. They have tornado warnings (or tornadoes?) in New Jersey? I did not know that. All these geography and weather (and food 😄) things I am learning. Thanks!

Thank you.  Yes, an occasional tornado here in NJ.  3 tornadoes hit Jersey on Saturday night.  One in Jackson, one in Ocean County and one other.

I am wondering if the first time I tried them they were instant grits.  Trying anything with shrimp on them is worth a try.

Don't forget the butter with the shrimp,,,,lots of butter!😁

We had torrential rain but luckily no tornadoes or hail.  Glad we all dodged the bullet this time including @Luckynana in NJ.

Thank you, Bonnie!  I'm glad it was only heavy rain for you!

Busy cooking this afternoon, because we are planning our large Easter meal tonight.  Maybe some food porn later.

Out walking early this morning, and it was nice enough to walk in t-shirts. Still a lot of tree damage they are trying to clean up from the storms.  Last weekend’s storm brought down another dozen large trees where we walk.

Speaking of walking, a woman was murdered last week on a trail along the Allegheny River, where Susan and I have walked several times.  Horrible that something like that happens.

WOW! Off the boards for a couple of days, and I’m 9 pages behind🙀.

Currently on Celebrity Solstice for a 7 night Pacific Coastal cruise.
When I disembark on Sat., I walk over to the next pier and board Discovery Princess for another Coastal cruise.

Hope everyone is doing well. Now back to page 3622.🤪

I would think that your area is more like LI than upstate NY

True. It was really more of a tongue-in-cheek remark that, in retrospect, only I would get.

When my niece went away to college on Long Island, she said it was like another world. In a good, eye-opening way, not that she lived a shelter life in any way.  After awhile, it became an inside joke whenever I told her I was going to Jones Beach or Robert Moses Park, I made it sound like I was going some place exotic. 😉

I tried it once, years ago, and couldn't even eat it.  Maybe I should try it again.  Is it always well done though?
