Eagerly watching for any scoop.
We sail her September 8.

Been over 15 years since we first sailed her. Always in cabin 1568 and we will be in that cabin again.

Safe travels.

We are in 1600 and 1602 so we will pass that room a lot

It took me a minute to understand what's a dragonfly, so DH supplied me some pics he took a while ago in our neighboring park....

Great pictures of the dragonflies!  Dragonfly's that come in my backyard are blue bodies, purplish tails, and green head.  They love to sit on blades of sea grass around my Koi pond.  They're not shy!😉

7/14/2024 - Flam, Norway - Per Cruise Compass:

Arriving in Flåm feels like stepping into a fairy tale.  From the harbor, take a brief stroll to the Flam Railway for a ride through the Myrdal Mountains and along the fjord….let the waterfall at Stalheimsfossen take your breath away.  (We went to the Kjosfossen Waterfall instead)

The train made a stop at the Kjosfossen Waterfall - Free Fall of 93 meter or 305 feet — Just as breathtaking.  You can hear the angelic voice of the woman in red singing.

I don't know if this works for groundhogs but it works for cats.  Used coffee grounds.  In the past you could get bulk from Starbucks.  Sprinkle around the area you need cats to stay out of.

I'll check into this as well.  Thank you!

Today Eric picked up some bars of Irish Spring and placed at his hole in the garden as well as hanging some pieces in old pantyhouse as Sue mentioned.

Made me realize I haven't worn pantyhose/stockings in ages.  Don't miss them at all.

We used to drive past Clove Lake and Silver Lake parks on the way to Day Camp.  Victory Blvd.  Lenny worked at the same Day Camp.  Ten of the best summers a kid could wish for.

We once hiked from our Day Camp to the Staten Island Ferry terminal and stopped by the Jolly Trolley for ice cream sodas.

I rode from the end of Hylan Boulevard near the Conference House to the Hospital on Seguine Avenue.  All was fine, until my ride back around Mt. Loretto, where I rode through the swarm with my head down..eek!

@Ozark_Kid It sounds like the loss of your doctor is like the passing of a loved one.  I'm sorry you lost someone who had such an important place in your life.  Hugs to you and all who loved him.

+ 1 @Ozark_Kid

and hope your family can get that fence up asap to keep the herd of deer from enjoying your gorgeous garden.

Before leaving on the Icon cruise I had my annual check up. When we got back, early February, we heard my family doctor fell and hit his head.  He had a brain hemorrhage.  He was moved to a hospital in Little Rock and remained there until about 2 weeks ago he was moved back to our local hospital.   We just heard he passed away Sunday.  He has been my doctor over 35 years. He was a great person and doctor.

Sorry to hear of the loss.  May he RIP🙏

Tomorrow morning I and my DH and DS will be departing hot and humid Michigan for even hotter and more humid North Carolina.  On Saturday we will be celebrating the life of my dear father who passed unexpectedly last April.  And we are also going to be inspecting and closing on our home we are building there for our retirement in two years.  Our builder is going to be using it as a model for most of that time.  So this trip will be full of mixed emotions. 😞🙂

Same with me, late morning flight on Thursday and arriving at MCO a little after 1:00 pm. Friday, I have a 10:30 check-in time at the pier.

I forgot how much needs to be done before a cruise. This will be my longest trip in 6 years, I'll be gone for almost 2 weeks.  Spent the day running around gathering last minute shopping for the basic travel stuff  and taking care of a few things on the home front before leaving - paying bills, mowing lawn, laundry, etc. Currently working on my packing list and clothing schedule - singinalot would be proud of my chart!! The gathering of clothes and packing will start later tonight & continue into the morning as I will pack and re-pack repeatedly for no other reason other than to think it can be better packed.

Oh, and I decided to take advantage of a last minute sale Royal was having to cancel/repurchase my internet package & excursion in Aruba.  Except after cancelling both, I couldn't repurchase right away. Either would got the spinning circle of lost hope and/or the "add to cart" button was greyed out. Finally after almost an hour, I was able to repurchase both.  One hour of anxiety to save $21.  Sheesh!

I returned home late last night from a poorly timed 5 day trip to a cabin in the Adirondacks without cell & internet service.  Same trip I did last year at this time with college friends & while I had a blast perfect weather and lots of laughter, I really could use 1 or 2 of those days back.

I am thankful we got the backyard fence now to keep the deer out. Last week Sharon saw this which is just a few houses from ours.  The deer are running towards the path that leads to our backyard!

These pics were taken yesterday down the street some.

I had a mega-herd of 14 deer run though my yard one morning a few years ago. Maybe half of them stopped to munch on roses, hosta, etc. Usually would only see 2 or 3 at a time.

A few years ago, a viral disease killed large amounts of white-tailed deer in NY. For years, I seldom see a deer in my yard but the population seems to be rebound. Saw 4 at once last week. A mom and 3 fawns.

Wow. These pictures are wonderful. I’m packing and getting excited.  We decided not to do the railroad in Flam as DH wanted to do the Viking village instead.  But we still get a waterfall.

Where is your next cruise?

We’re trying to figure that out right now.  It was going to be Bella 2 but now thinking of maybe a New Year’s cruise.
