Yes, I posted the CDC link earlier. https://www.cdc.gov/quarantine/cruise/index.html?fbclid=IwAR34iirrBIz7_fiuCS6xlR72CYG7r-2CAcjM6tpOv3ebMeUw1tFXwLQxxnw I read it as 100 days from the original date though, not 100 additional days. 4
DaniDanielle Posted April 10, 2020 Author #3 Share Posted April 10, 2020 It came on so quickly I just caught CDC and 100 days. Should be fun times! Hope you and your family are doing well.

Hope you and your family are doing well. I could be reading it wrong, there is some debate on it on FB. We are hanging in there. DH has a two week furlough but survived the layoff. All are healthy though. Hope you guys are doing well too! Stay safe. 🙂 1

cheermom0501 Posted April 10, 2020 #6 Share Posted April 10, 2020 I read the entire update and I thought it read as there was an additional 100 days. It was a addendum to the mar order

piano Posted April 10, 2020 #10 Share Posted April 10, 2020 So does this mean no cruising for 100 days from the March order date? So we are looking at June for the earliest sail?

The original order was dated March 14 2020. If you go down to the bottom of this order it says this: In testimony whereof, the Director, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, has hereunto set his hand at Washington, D.C., this 9th day of April, 2020. So the order is dated for April 9 2020. So 100 days from today's date. That would make it July 18th 2020 end date. Edited April 10, 2020 by Seacruise added end date. Thanks for posting this. People need to read it and be aware it says it's whatever of the 3 things posted above COMES FIRST. Not a flat 100 days from the date of publication.
Rancher Dave Posted April 10, 2020 #16 Share Posted April 10, 2020 Based on comments from one cruise line official today, there are a lot of changes being worked out by all kinds of parties affected that will work to ensure a safer cruise ship environment for passengers and crew alike. Sounded like for one the buffet will no longer have kids tasting and putting the cookies back on the serving tray (I actually saw it happen one time in 35 cruises, but saw many folks including numerous adults grab food with hands and sometimes push other food around to grab the one item they wanted, all with bare hands...saw crew immediately trash large platters of food). The other biggie is that ports have to open to ships and I suspect that may be the bigger delay in a bunch of the sailings.
internetwhiz Posted April 10, 2020 #17 Share Posted April 10, 2020 (edited) The 100 days is listed as one of three options, whichever of the three happens FIRST...or that’s how it reads. https://www.cdc.gov/quarantine/cruise/index.html Edited April 10, 2020 by internetwhiz

It is a little more. It is a no sale order for up to 100 days for ships over 250 passengers. It requires that cruise lines get approval of USCG in consultation with HHS CDC personnel for any ship operations. Even going out to dump gray water or coming in for supplies requires direct USCG approval. It also requires that the CLIA and its members develop a plan for how they are going to deal with all of the crew members on ships in or around the US ports using their own resources, at their own expense and that they are not to impact land based medical or result in any cost to local or state goverments, The plan includes them having to run medical checks and provide the information to CDC. No more hiding the number of ill crew members on board. It turns the voluntary suspension of operations into an involuntary one.

datolim Posted April 10, 2020 #21 Share Posted April 10, 2020 The CDC order states that cruise ships can't board passengers and return to their sailing schedules until one of three events takes place: This looks like a very very serious matter. 100 days from Apr 14 means Jul 23. In the mean time how many may die in the ships at sea if I read this news correctly. Cannot be true!!!!! https://www.msn.com/en-us/travel/news/cdc-extends-no-sail-order-for-cruise-ships-as-industry-ravaged-by-the-coronavirus/ar-BB12pv5w?ocid=spartandhp
Roger88 Posted April 10, 2020 #22 Share Posted April 10, 2020 Did I understand the article correctly? No cruising for 100 days AT ALL? I think it doesn not effect the current cruises and cruises by companies from other countries. The only problem here is a total lock up of the country. You might purchase a cruise but never have a chance to board the ship lol. Now this is serious. And you wont be compensated because the company is ready to give you the cruise.. but the country wont allow you to board.. rediculous
