Drink package

Just did a mock booking for 7 day Mardi Gras using my RU1 code.  Extra cost for Cheers promotion was $110 total or $55 per person for the entire cruise versus Early Saver.  DW and I are not drinkers, so this is of no interest to us.  BTW, I have never spent a penny in the casino, so mine was not a casino offer.

Lucky you.  That is by far the best cabin I've ever had, including various types of balconies.

I'm still irritated that Carnival moved the Freedom away from Galveston.

It was the only Scenic View left.  It was that or a Cove Balcony on a different ship.  The videos of the cabin sold me.  It is on the Lido Deck (9).

Maybe the first offers were just better no matter the code? I saw someone say their offer was only $50 pp more. Haven't seen any that low lately. I think they are testing how high they can go before people dont book the drinks offer.

Only $25 per person more than the early saver price for a 5 night cruise. An amazing deal!

Its only $60 pp more than the Super Saver guarantee price for a 10 night cruise!

CHEERS TO YOU!

Can the RU1 code with free Cheers be booked through any agent  or ONLY from the Carnival.com website after logging in?

I cant see the FREE Cheers package or RU1 code on any agents website.

Did you get that offer? Mine expired on dec 13th, maybe today, now mine no longer shows up.

I could see it myself without being a agent before today. Mine expired.

This is a Carnival players club promotion that’s why it wasn’t offered to all.

I received several emails for Cheers package. Both from Carnival and Players Club. I think they just use the same email databases sometimes.. I’ve never spent a cent in the casino.

We booked with our PVP. If the offer is available under your “VIFP offers”, you can book it on the website.

On a 10 night cruise, the prices for 2 adults in a cabin are--

Super Saver lowest fare = $2008

Cheers RU1 code (valid till 8 Jan 2021)  =$2128 (So it appears to be a great deal, just $120 more @$6 pp per day for Cheers).

But wait, guess what---

Best TA offer for the same cabin from the bidding site = $1797 (no Cheers).

So the Cheers actually works out to $331 more for 2 adults for 10 days!

So weird how different people give you different answers. We applied the promo onto an already booked cruise but kept the 600 OBC we already had for a cancelled cruise

Thanks for sharing this.  I contacted our PVP again, reminded her that our OBC was as a result of a cancelled cruise, and she applied the Cheers promo to our booking.  In addition, she used some of our OBC for the $180 that was due for the promo.

We are Platinum but haven’t sailed with Carnival since 2014.  We have never purchased the drink package before.

We received the email with the RU1 code and booked the Mardi Gras for August.  Our rate is only $140 total ($70pp) more than the early saver rate, so totally worth it.

We booked Mardi Gras for Oct 2021 almost when first launched. After seeing this post I checked our VIFP club and we were offered RU3 on a new booking. I contacted our travel agent (we live in the UK) to investigate if we could have it applied retrospectively to our booking, or if we could cancel the cruise and rebook with no penalty in order to get the offer. Our agent was unable to get hold of Carnival so sent them an email which they responded to a few days later, with an apology for the struggle we were having getting contact, and the offer of Cheers package for about $80 more than what we've paid for our cruise on an RX1 code! Accepted of course....no brainer 👏

that was what we did. first I am glad we have connecting cabins for the teenagers. phew. so I asked my TA if we could get the drink package for our December 2021 MG cruise. Mind you we booked in March of this year . She said yes but it would add another 200 dollars to our cost of the trip and we would forfeit the  refundable deposit-i think we had to up the deposit too.  so basically for about 200 to say 300 more dollars to our trip - we got the package that would have cost almost 800 for two people.  Im not a big drinker. BUT.... it was too good to pass up.
