We just saw we have this promo ...already have cruise booked for October. Called our PVP and he said that he was surprised we got it since the promo was meant for people who dont have a cruise booked yet. But since we got it, we switched us without rebooking or losing deposit...it was 140 more per person

Par for the course....

Was the promo code RU1 or RU2. Certainly wasn't RU9.  Forgot to ask, how long is your cruise for?

I got the offer yesterday.  I priced a cruise with and without the code and it was only slightly more with the code and free drinks. It looks like the code is RX1.  I went ahead and put a deposit on a cruise in August using the free drink promo.  I already have a cruise booked in April, but really think it's a 50/50 that it will sail.

Just checked my offers and found that both DW and I have the RU1 Cheers offer. We are both Diamond and currently have 8 cruises booked with Carnival not counting the 3 in February 2021 that were just cancelled.

Yes..we took that with a grain of salt...he said we must have gotten it from some old email or something...we have two booked ( with numerous canceled) . I don't really think the PVPs have any idea how and why  the promotions are sent

We received the offer yesterday, wife received the RU1, and mine was RU3, But we already had

a cruise booked for July on the Mardi Gras, using a casino code. Seems using the RU code the

cruises are more expensive.

The RU2 seems to be the best of the RU options.  Of course the casino options are an entirely different animal since they are attached with the assumption that you'll be making a "donation".

It was RU2. 7 day Panorama out of Long Beach

7 days for 140 more pp, that equals to Cheers for 20 bucks a day

Ok, now even I got the Cheers RU1 offer ! (but no email intimation)

Just after I said I am no longer interested, lol

I have 2 cruises cancelled & 2 cruises booked.

I never bought Cheers or any other drink onboard. (carried 2 bottles of my favourite wine)

I think they are doing it in lots. So just wait, I think ALL of us will get it sooner or later.

I am loved again by CCL!  RU2 offer just showed up in my offers - no email.  Can't really see how good it is, as it is not being offered for my March cruise for some reason. (must be booked by 12/13 and used for cruises until 12/31/21)

How did they do this? The person I spoke to could not do it because we had booked two days prior to me calling. I have price protection and don't want to give that up, though

In my case, the cruises I booked have already gone up by 25 to 30%.

So it doesn't make sense for me to request for the RU2 code price for my Cruises already booked.

And I expect that the RU2 code is only valid for fresh bookings.

You're looking at it wrong. Get your logic out of here. It's about two things:

- Free drinks

- I demand Carnival give them to me now.

Casino offers are a different animal.   It's  like comparing an apple to an orange.  Unfortunately I was offered the pit.

The offers are very much alike. No matter how much we try to pretend they are so different, they are both targeted marketing. Period. It's just that currently, we are able to articulate the casino offer a lot better.

If I was a marketing department, this thread is a great indication of why I wouldn't give these offers to everyone. If a customer will only come back when you throw your best offer at them, they aren't as good of a customer as they think they are. When you have a limited supply of something, and someone will come around and spend more from it, which would you want?

Among other things I got told when I complained last thread, oh they know they have you, this offer is to get others to come back and book.

Well, not true, they shouldn't take me for granted.

I agree they should not take their loyal passengers for granted.  They should be offered discounts and all promotions too.  But from a business prospective I understand the move.  I was not offered the drink promotion either, I guess it has something to do with the three cruises I have booked with them.  I never purchased the drink package and do not drink much so it really was not that important to me, but I can understand how it can be important to others.

I know that my opinion doesn't amount to a hill of beans but you have the right to be upset and to act on it.  Wish you all the best.

Imo they are slowing raising the price with drinks included to see what the market will bear. Everyone is trying to find ways to get more bookings and raise prices. Celebrity all inclusive, all rcl prices jumped with the double loyalty pts, now I get 4 a day, 6 on js and higher. You get in diamond lounge for free drinks I think around 75 pts, we were saying a newbie could get fo diamond on rcl now in a year.

All of them pushing for ways to fill ships. ..at high prices. Ncl was offering all 5 perks included. Maybe carnival wanted to see how much extra people would pay in this tiered offer.

I too have been graciously acknowledged by Carnival.  I have two cabins booked for September, daughter and I in one, 2 adult granddaughters in the other.  My offer is RU 2 and granddaughter's is RU9.

I got a ru1, I think was 343 same cabin for me. Solo.

You are probably right. We jumped at the promo for an extra 140 pp even though we already have 600 OC for this cruise, so its probably over-kill for us. That being said, I checked NCL and the same cruise with their perks is still 1000 more

Does anyone know what the difference is between RU1 and RU2?

There is also RU3 and RU9.  RU9 requires an ocean view or higher cabin and is substantially more for our Mardi Grad cruise.  Since the marketing gurus bestowed the worst of the four options to me, I will be not taking advantage.

Its not a great deal on my booked cruise.

I looked at 5 and 6 day cruises. Only possible would be a almost b2b dec 2021  and we dont know for sure how cdc will rule. I'm booked april 25, sept 11, dec 12. Only one that isnt horrible is 5 days on breeze dec 5, 2021. Gets back 1 day before my dec 12th cruise.  These are the ru1 prices.

Interesting for me today also, was simply searching the price of a cruise I already had booked (in case it went down) due to a previous cancellation and the cruise came up with the "beverage" offer, first time I have ever seen it, am leaving cruise as is though, didn't want to add another $ amount to cruise price, keeps me busy trying to find cruises with similar price as cancelled ones.
