New CDC Guidelines for Vaccinated People

I just saw the Director of the C.D.C. explain the new ruling live on TV.

 

Fully vaccinated people will no longer need to socially distance or wear masks when in gatherings or groups of other fully vaccinate people. 

 

By Fully Vaccinated they mean 2 weeks after the second dose of Pfizer or Moderna, or 2 weeks after the Jansen single dose.
 
No change ( RIGHT NOW ) to travel restrictions however they will change soon if as expected over 225 million Americans will be fully immunized by mid-May.

Glad to hear that the CDC has finally released these new guidelines, they have been talking about this for the past week. The new guidelines may encourage persons who are hesitant about the vaccine, to go get vaccinated.

What’s Changed

If you’ve been fully vaccinated:

  • You can gather indoors with fully vaccinated people without wearing a mask.
  • You can gather indoors with unvaccinated people from one other household (for example, visiting with relatives who all live together) without masks, unless any of those people or anyone they live with has an increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19.
  • If you’ve been around someone who has COVID-19, you do not need to stay away from others or get tested unless you have symptoms.
    • However, if you live in a group setting (like a correctional or detention facility or group home) and are around someone who has COVID-19, you should still stay away from others for 14 days and get tested, even if you don’t have symptoms.

What Hasn’t Changed

For now, if you’ve been fully vaccinated:

  • You should still take steps to protect yourself and others in many situations, like wearing a mask, staying at least 6 feet apart from others, and avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces. Take these precautions whenever you are:
  • You should still avoid medium or large-sized gatherings.
  • You should still delay domestic and international travel. If you do travel, you’ll still need to follow CDC requirements and recommendations.
  • You should still watch out for symptoms of COVID-19, especially if you’ve been around someone who is sick. If you have symptoms of COVID-19, you should get tested and stay home and away from others.
  • You will still need to follow guidance at your workplace.

Also Vaccinated people can meet in Home of UnVax people w/o Mask's long as the UnVax people are not at (High Risk Health/65+). Surprized they said that one..

CDC Director said it live at 11am EST in newscast... Had watch it 3 times make sure I heard it right. News been talking about since

I completely agreeand support it with no exceptions. It is a way back to as close to a normal in board experience as possible.

Guess cruising is still out unless they REALLY limit capacity

So no families. Adults only.  Teens allowed early next year. Children allowed sometime later in 2022.

I don't see the cruise lines doing this...

Yes, the CDC still says to delay domestic and international travel.  Hopefully by June 2021 the USA will have large numbers of people vaccinated and they will drop the travel restrictions/recommendations.

Agree. June should loosen travel up.  And hopefully by fall our favorite ports will start to accept visitors as well. And hopefully by fall the CDC will allow >7 days, and port calls without strict cruise line-led excursions.

Maybe if  the C.D.C. still sets certain capacity rules there will be enough potential passengers in the estimated 225 million fully vaccinated people many without children who would like to cruise starting in May of this year..

 

AT LEAST IT WOULD BE A START....

Ok. Thanks. That’s different from what I heard from FB people saying everything is ok.

It is estimated that by mid May there will be 225 million fully vaccinated people in the U.S.A. .

Children's Hospital in Miami has started vaccinations for at-risk 16 to 21-year-olds.

Nicklaus Children’s Hospital has announced availability of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for Florida children and young adults ages 16 to 21 who are currently under the care of physicians or specialists for medical conditions identified by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) as posing an increased risk for severe illness associated with COVID-19.

Having small children at home, I've wondered this myself. My wife and I are now vaccinated but needless to say, the kids won't be eligible for the foreseeable future. If vaccines do become a requirement, will minors be allowed to cruise with vaccinated adults? Or will cruise lines limit cruises to just vaccinated adults?

 

If un-vaccinated kids aren't allowed, I guess the honorable thing for my wife and I to do is obvious: Leave the kids with grandma and go on a cruise without them. 😂
