Casino Prime (May 2021) cruise cancelled. RCCL will not replace.

Recommended Posts

Hi - my 2020 Prime ( casino)  cruise scheduled in May was cancelled.

I just called Casino Royale to see my options and  was told that the 2020 prime cruise is no longer valid and I cannot book it for another date.   Agent tells me to use  an existing offer instead.  All my current  offers are $200 OFF ANY CRUISE.  $200 to replace a free prime cruise  - ouch

This is not the first  time my prime cruise has been cancelled because of the shutdown  and before  I was offered some alternate dates to book. Seems strange that I would completely lose the prime offer because of the shutdown.   This is not a random free offer, but a specific written tier benefit  of Casino Royale that I earned because of my casino play during the year.

Anyone  have this issue and  how was it resolved?

Thanks.

M

Someone posted about this a few weeks ago on the Club Royale fans social media page. They had been told that their 2020 Prime cruise may not be replaced if it was cancelled after final payment date (?, I think that was what was said). I was very surprised to hear that.

I had my annual prime cruise cancelled for march 2021 and they allowed me to select a different cruise which I did for sailing February 2022.     They simply transferred my existing booking to the new booking and there was a small difference I paid as I went from balcony to JS.

Other news, I booked a cruise this morning and they confirmed (as they have with others) that by 2nd or 3rd week of April we will receive another annual prime cruise that we can use up thru March 31, 2022.    That's Great news!

Called about one today for a client and what  you provided was more information than I was given.  I was told to check back in a couple days as they may be going through and reloading offers. They really didn’t seem to know much which is typically the case the first couple days after an announcement.

I guess, when in doubt call back and get another agent  works.

Called back and got it rebooked - and the upgrade was actually cheaper than the original cruise!

Thanks all.

So glad you called back and was able to re-book!!

Great news.  There is no reason that an annual casino comp would not get reinstated.  Glad to see that you finally got someone who knew what they were doing.  It’s so unfortunate that there are so many truly incompetent casino CSRs out there.

I think it is CSRs in general for many industries, not just rcl or club royale.

They figured if they dont really know an answer they make one up that's good to them

DH and I are both Prime and we were not allowed to move either of our complimentary cruises when they were cancelled. ☹

Your situation may be different.  They won't allow rebookings of regular comped cruises (those they offer via e-mails, postcards, etc. for a limited number of sailings, etc.), but the posters here are talking about their Annual Prime cruises, which you earn by obtaining Prime status.  If you are talking about your Annual Prime cruise, call again!

Through all of these cancellations, I was only able to move one of my cancelled casino comps.  All of the others had to be fully refunded.  We have still not booked our annual Prime cruises.  I'm going to hold off on converting any of my currently booked cruises to my annual casino comp until I know that things are moving again.

Yes, it was our annual Prime complimentary cruise - one each.  No go on rescheduling.

But yes, we have been able to move regular comped cruises to other limited sailings and dates by entering the cancelled booking number on "clubroyaleoffers.com."

Sorry to hear that.  I still haven't booked my Signature one.  Like LFerrington, I am waiting for Royal to start sailing again before I book that one.  I have gotten tired of the booking/cancellation/rebooking treadmill.

My 2019 annual cruise was canceled twice and they’ll still let me rebook it by March 31st with sailing by Dec 31st.  My 2020 was canceled in February and they let me move it to Feb ‘22 within one week before or after original sailing.

What restrictions were there on dates?

We were allowed to book any eight night or shorter cruise from July 2021 (I think), through March 2022.    Of course holidays are always excluded from the prime cruises.

Does anyone really "come out on top" when it comes to these Prime/comped cruises?  Is it true the house always wins?

Yes, we would be ahead if they were actually sailing.

This month alone we have had 6 different offers for balcony or oceanview cabins for 3 to 7 night sailings between 11.21 to 3.22.   Booked a new one yesterday for large OV balcony on Anthem for 2022.

By using our free cruises, I walk on the ship with thousands of dollars more than if I had paid full freight.  So it is a symbiotic relationship.  They give me a great deal to get me on the ship, then I give them the rest in the casino.  Yes, the house always wins, in the long run.  But if you are gaming for fun, and can afford it, not a bad way to go.
