Things go up/down constantly...I like to check around Black Friday (or a week before) and Cyber Monday. Always book for a price I think is fair and watch and wait and then cancel and rebook.

The most recent cruise planner sale ended on 4/1/2021, so the prices now are back to a generally higher state, though some discounts on a per-sailing basis are still available on many ships.

Every two or so weeks after the end of the prior sale there's a new cruise planner sale, where what gets discounted and by how much may vary a bit.

Check this URL periodically; it will get updated when a new cruise planner sale is about to begin: http://creative.rccl.com/Sales/Royal/Promotions/Snapshot_of_CruisePlanner_Offers.pdf

thanks for the reply ,next time I see it go down I will book it & keep watching it see if it goes down again & rebook. I didn't know I could do that .

The problem is my cruise is in October & I didn't want them to have my $$$$$ . If they cancel the cruise do they but the money back on my credit card or is it OBC for next time I book ?

There’s a cost for everything.  The cost for getting a low price on the pre-purchase packages is that you have to pay in advance.  Either you give them money up front for a discounted package or you hold out and risk paying a higher purchase price closer to sailing.  The good news is, if Royal cancels the cruise, you get a 100% cash (refunded to the original form of payment) refund for your Cruise Planner purchases.

Let's see...............I only have one cruise booked in the "able to book stuff in my Cruise Planner" time frame, and YES, stuff went up.  Quite a lot.

My next alleged cruise (Aug) and the Deluxe is $67, which is basically onboard price, and Voom is $16 and the one after it (Mar) is $62 so yeah big jump ...

You have 3 choices.   If they cancel and you want a refund of your cruise fare, then you'll also get a refund of your cruise planner purchases.  If you decide to take a modified lift n shift, then you'll also get a refund of your cruise planner purchases.  If you decide to take the 125% FCC, then you have the option of a cruise planner refund or a 125% FCC of those cruise planner dollars to be used as cruise planner monies on your rescheduled cruise.

I’d been keeping an eye on the Ultimate Dining pkg on Harmony for a while waiting for it to go down. Normal price was $199 and I just bought it on sale for $179 last week. It just jumped up to $217.  First time I’ve seen it that high.

If they haven't, they should. How can they be expected to turn a profit at the bargain basement prices they are charging now?

How about scrapping the "Dynamic Pricing" policy that no other cruise line has and just come up with a reasonable dollar amount for each of the cruise planner items?  The way it is now you need to keep checking back to see the pricing of a particular item and whether it's at a point where you will pull the trigger and buy it.  And to make matters worse is the price discrepancy between the Class of ship and the time of year you cruise as to whether it's a good price or not. The Coco Cay Beach Club Pass  can be anywhere from 59 - 189.  Very frustrating.

Correct...I took a 125% FCC and I opted to have my cruise planner items credited back to the

credit card used.

Companies will always test to see what people are willing to pay.  If enough people still buy something at a higher price, they learn what the market will bear.  If acquisition rates stall they learn what price can't be sustained.

Supply and demand.

I have a feeling once cruising is open, prices will go no where but up. At least in the beginning.

If you did it that way, why did you not also take the 125% on the cruise planner to try to offset price increases on your new cruise?

That is all well and good, but since Royal has decided to swim upstream with their "Dynamic Pricing", when comparing cruise options more often than not we decide to cruise with another line.  We took the blinders off 20 years ago.  Dynamic pricing at times is gouging the customer.  The Loyal Royal accepts it, others don't.

They only suck for those that don't take advantage of them.

Like the 18.00 drink package that everybody cried about when their cruise got cancelled and they lost it.  Make the UDP 179 for a 7 night cruise, why should it be over 200 on certain sailings and why should I have to monitor price fluctuations? Why is the price differentiation with the CocoCay Beach Club over 100 dollars on certain sailings?  You're a Loyal Royal, I get it.

I can think of a reason. I did that on a sailing where I'd purchased the deluxe beverage package/VOOM combo and the ultimate dining package. So now I have over $900 in an FCC for the cruise planner that I have to apply to a single sailing. Well, problem is spending all that on a 7-night cruise is impractical, and I already get OBC from shareholders benefits that it'd add to as well. So I haven't really pursued anything but do plan to at least make some sort of attempt to ask Royal to spread it across a B2B sailing or something similar. Otherwise I'll have to resort to using it on a local port departure/last sailing of a B2B and buy a lot of liquor, or trying to redeem some through the casino and just losing a percentage, or pushing it out till when some longer sailings are back on the schedule on a ship worthy of the ultimate dining package (i.e., Oasis class, or some ship that still has Sabor). I really should've thought it through better and canceled the Ultimate Dining package then requested the 125% credit.

Apparently I'm just more adept at finding bargains.  I bet paid less for my car too.

You do realize that cruises themselves are not fixed prices right?  They are sometimes high and sometimes low.

I get it though.  Whenever losing an argument, invoke the loyalty clause.
