The Daily for Sunday Apr 25, 2021

Loved seeing the penguins in Antarctica and the Falklands, and hoping to see them again in 2023. Thanks to all for the great pictures.

We were on the Noordam  5 years ago, with many Kiwis and Aussies on board. An Anzac service was held, complete with the bagpiper who was on board. 

We visited Gallipoli in 2014, on a land tour of Turkey. The cemeteries are so beautifully kept by the Turkish government.

Food is excellent and happy hour is wonderful! We just take the trolley over at Maui Kaanapali Villas to Safeway and then transfer to the small trolley to Lahaina. They are strict with masks and I wanted Everyone to see in the one picture how they are wearing the masks! Shawn FaceTimed us and had her 2nd Moderna Shot on Friday and yesterday and today well she was under the weather! So happy she is vaccinated! She said she wished I gave her the shot! 😃

🌴That's where the Hard Rock Cafe was, right?😎 We saw the Tommy Bahama Bar in March (2021) while walking around Lahaina. The Outlet Mall was pretty quiet at the time --mid week. Yes, all the employees were wearing masks which is the right thing to do.😷 I talked to a few waitresses and they told me they'd been out of work 6+ months. We went over to the former Moose McGillycuddy's...food so-so. 🙄 

Good to see tourism returning and we'll be back in late July with the grandchildren.....their big hurrah before returning to school.📚📚

Aloha sweet sister! Is the new place where Hard Rock was? We saw it being demolished last Feb. Is the food close to the Tommy Bahama in Kihei? We want to be with you and David so badly! So so happy Shawn got her shot! Love you muchly!

🌺🌴Hi Joy!! Yes with Hard Rock!! They had a Tommy Bahama restaurant over by us 

Back in 2010 but for some reason it didn’t do well. Love the location food excellent!!

Brief update re Kakalena. She had had all her tests and the cancer has not spread to either the lymph nodes or the brain.  Ready now for surgery but she is getting quite frustrated with the problems gettin her set up with a thoracic surgeon that is in her Medicare Advantage network.

 

Thank you so much for the update and the good news that the cancer has not spread.  Prayers continue for her and a successful surgery and recovery 🙏🏻

LOL - I am not the queen.  There are people with many more.  It’s a combination of roll calls, LIVE threads, Bon Voyages, etc.  I sent my brother (RIP) the link to my last LIVE thread so he could follow along.  He said how did you get all those posts?  About 3 weeks later as the LIVE thread was going he messaged me and said “now I get how you got them”. 😉

Like many others,  I found Hitchcock movies pretty scary. In fact I’ve never gotten over The Birds. As much as I love watching birds in my backyard, if I get too many at one time I get a little nervous. This trio made me jittery, I was convinced they were eying me.
