Didn't I read some time ago - maybe a month ago - that they were going to discontinue delivering the C&A amenities to your cabin before boarding ?  I think that's what it said.  So is that not true now ?

Who the heck knows.🤪

That was the press release leaked by the RC Blog. It got yanked quickly.

However, much of what was in it came to pass

My comments were to auntiemomo who wondered why anyone would drink decaffeinated coffee.

Still wondering.   If you like it so much, I sincerely hope you don't have to add condiments to that stuff. 🤪

A while back I remember a discussion about Royal transitioning from bottled water to cans, any truth to that rumor?

They still have the plastic water bottles on Adventure, June 16.  Maybe old stock?

Thanks, I just read that in bird’s review

Do Diamond Plus  with   340  plus  still get  the  wine   in  there room upon arrival.  Can we get  a free water  in the  Diamond Lounge  or do we have to use  a  voucher.

And 3 amenities at 525 points.  we get 3 bottles of wine.

Not sure why it matters  but I drink black coffee.  Occasionally I’ll add a teaspoon of sugar.

I guess I’ll have to start dragging on some bottles of water and soda.

Renee, I am highly skeptical that they are going to end the free bottles of water and soda from the DL... Just like I am skeptical they are going to charge vouchers in the DL....  They are going against a decade of practice.  Who knows what ships are going to be like going forward, but the cost / benefit on this just seems negative.  I think they are going to treat the first returners like Demi gods.  Who knows, but I can’t imagine the upside of anything else.  If they lose the core customers they are screwed.

So, I am an eternal optimist.

You are probably correct Yoda.

I am not sure the proper business model is we are desperate and we are going to steal every last sheckel from you is the right answer, but I have never been that desperate.  I can only imagine where they are right now.

So much for treating first returners as Demi Gods.

They ARE using a voucher for the DL.  And,  those first returners on Adventure  have already  been denied one of the  new benefits------ the ability to use a voucher at Coco Cay.

I'd suggest that at least initially the frequent cruisers should be prepared for changes to their experience.  Perhaps as things calm down, things will change.  I wouldn't count on it though.  Royal has a lot of money to make up and I don't see many passengers jumping ship over a bottle of water.

I am hoping that it is true that vouchers will be used in the DL.  If the number of passengers in the DL will be limited, perhaps using the vouchers will allow more people access to the lounge, as opposed to those who get to the lounge at opening time and drink their way though til the last minute to leave for dinner.  I can't imagine those who either use all their vouchers either in the lounge or prior to the opening, are going to sit there for the rest of the HH without a drink.

I like the idea of the 5 drinks that can be used anytime for any drink up to $13 instead of having little choice of drinks in the lounge.  I realize my opinion is not popular, but I hope the new policy is in effect when I sail on my next cruises and I hope it stays that way.

I see it differently. I'd rather the lounge lovers pack themselves in there during HH rather than take up space in the Schooner bar. I'll happily use my 5 vouchers elsewhere to make space up in the DL for you.

This is a very good point.  I think people will be less likely to go to the Diamond Club if they can get the same drinks elsewhere.  There is benefit to the social aspects and the appetizers are nice, but it's not like you're really going all that hungry on a ship and the convenience of using the vouchers any time during the day is pretty amazing.  I hope they continue this practice indefinitely.

As a Diamond + and Prime (casino) member I receive one complimentary bottle of wine from C&A, one from the casino, 5 drinks at any bar on the ship at any time I choose, free drinks in the casino while gambling, and a few bottles of water too! I also can go enjoy a complimentary espresso, cappuccino or latte every morning in the Diamond Lounge. And 2 days of free internet. I would use some vouchers on Coco Cay if allowed but I am grateful for the many nice perks offered. I will enjoy them all in 2 more days!

I honestly think it's a vast improvement when you consider the all day, any bar, any drink deal. Within reason of course.

Of course I get an extra drink than you do😉

Still have coffee machine in lounge

Always hiccups for early adapters.

How many folks have now thought they were on an Odyssey inaugural. Booked that against my better judgment 😉

Umm, you don't have to be gambling to utilize your Prime drink benefit. The bar just has to be open🍺
