The British Colonial Hilton was calm and peaceful today. Talking with the front desk staff, they have no clue what is about to hit them in a few hours. Especially now that everyone has to get a test and wait for the results before heading to the ship (or to an isolation ward). Hundreds of people sitting and laying everywhere. All day.

Haven't been to Bahamas in 20yrs. Was there day the original Straw Market burned up. Easy to remember, got off ship with my kids and landed at home early am on Sept 11, 2001

Thanks Bird! We're going on this cruise in 2 weeks! I am curious at what capacity they're sailing at and how that feels. I'm all for not having long waits for things but also don't want it to be TOO quiet if that makes sense?

Good Morning Nassau

 

Currently, in the middle of a driving rain storm. Hopefully It will clear up by boarding time for that 1/2 - 3/4 mile hike to the ship. We may have to search for an umbrella. Royal said that there will be transportation (let’s see, 1600 passengers and a 6-seat golf cart).

Is there room for a mini-bus to get to the ship?

For those staying at the British Colonial Hilton, the Bar/lounge/ restaurant  has a limited menu. Hilton Diamond members get a continental breakfast (two tiny pastries with coffee, tea and/or juice) or hot breakfast for a $6 upcharge.

No. All is still quiet. The ballroom doors are open but there is no activity,,, yet

Any tables set up? ropes for lining people up, anything that looks like they are prepared for an onslaught of people arriving to check in?

 

Anything that looks like a dress rehearsal or are they just going to wing it?

Thank you so much for this review. I appreciate you taking time from your vacation to share with us. Reading the cruise reviews and reports was may favorite thing to do in the evening.

I had to schedule a check in time for our sailing in two weeks. They only allow so many per time slot. Our paperwork said if we arrive too early or too late we either have to wait outside of the venue or re-schedule or time. Check in times start at 1:30 pm and end at 7 pm for a 9 pm sailing. It doesn’t sound like a normal turn over day where we show up at 10 am and hope to get on board by 11:30 am.

I’m on the 26th sailing too. Our check in is 12:30 so slots must be filling up!
