Oasis Deck 8

Recommended Posts

We are doing Sept 5 with friends and have cabins  8602 and 8610.. in total agreement with last poster, we book it for Central Park access far away from the boardwalk activity   Of course no one knows how much traffic or noise comes from stairs or elevator traffic, but can not think this cruise would have an issue if not fully booked...

We’ve done about a dozen cruises on oasis class ships and always book on deck 8. Our favorite on oasis is 8202 - bed is by the balcony and the cabin is directly across from the back door to the park cafe. Makes it real quick to get back to the cabin with morning coffee.

I agree with the other posters. We always try to book near cabin 8268 or 8270. Our TA asked us if the noise from the Music Hall is a bother. We've never had a problem from the Hall, the elevators or even the rest room nearby. Actually, the rest room was convenient, if the spouse was using our bathroom. The fact that this was the closest entrance to get to the Park Cafe was the original reason we booked there. Now, we wouldn't book anywhere else on the Oasis.

There's a back door to the PC ?  Who knew ?

I knew there was a door there but I did not know it was for passenger use.  We stayed close by there once never saw anyone use it

I usually walk around to the entrance and then after I get our coffee I exit out the back door which is right next to the coffee station.

We're looking at the Oasis deck 8 balcony mid-ship aft maybe closer to the elevators. Has anyone experienced any problems with the location?

Love this area always walk through Central Park on the way "home". Starboard Aft cabins for us!! However if you can only get deck 7 you must remember that in the aft elevators you cannot walk through.

Technically it is a service exit, but it is always open from the inside.

Thank you for everyone's input! Port or Starboard as far as convenience or noise? Cabin 8208 or 8606 and there's a few cabins on each side.

Have never experienced a noise issue on deck 8. The biggest thing for us is getting a cabin with the bed near the balcony instead of next to the bathroom.

There is no signage on that door that indicates it’s use.

I have never seen a door that says "passenger use", but there are certainly doors that say "crew only".  Hence I would agree with you that it is not prohibited if there is no signage.

How can you tell from the deck plans where the bed is going to be? Is it an odd/even thing?

On O and Q class ships, regular balcony cabins alternate (in a known repeatable pattern) the placement of the bed.

You do know if you tell everybody that deck 8 is the best deck then you may not get your pick if everybody knows its the best one and takes all the cabins before you book.🙂

We always try to book while on board as soon as itineraries come out, so have never had a problem.

It it relatively easy as the cabins on oasis class ships are installed in pairs, with the right cabin in the pair by the balcony and the left one by the bathroom. Look for a pair with adjoining cabins. The right side one is by the balcony. Just count by twos down the deck plans to find matching cabins. For example, 8202 and 8604 (our two ‘first”” choices) are both by the balcony cabins

Deck 8 is our second favorite deck after deck 6  No problems

The only problem with deck six is that the only way to get to the other end of the promenade is through the cabin corridors.

I just walk down one deck and then walk thru  6676 or 6680 are our favorite cabins  bed by balcony  2 decks down to the casino and 2 deck up to CP

Both with bad knees; DW uses a walker or two forearm crutches, and stairs are a real challenge, so we tend to avoid those situations.
