Rare Jim_Iain Posted September 20, 2021 Author #1826 Share Posted September 20, 2021 I'm still groaning from last night. They brought the chocolate cart assortment to us and we chose to nibble off it instead of ordering desert. I feel like "Gordidto" I Spanish word a Mexican friend would call me in kidding when I would send her a text at work - Costco perro caliente? It was a private joke.

No problem social distancing; this cruise is in private yacht territory = 300 pax. I'm alone in al Bacio. Enjoy your cruise. Be safe 🙏 . Would love to hear about your cruise so do post when you can.

I can tie a full Windsor (I prefer them for their symmetry) in 10 seconds blindfolded, but if you ask me to tie a bow tie and have it look like it hasn't been spun in a SaladMaster, forget it! You depend on Iain, and I depend on Charline. I just vaguely have an idea of the usefulness of a valet in times gone by where attire could be a great deal more complicated! Eggs Benedict for a great start of the day. For day visitors Aruba is open for business. We are required to bring our Covid Vax card with us to exit the port. Masks are required at all times both on the streets as well as all indoor locations. Curfew - No one permitted on beaches between 10:00 PM and 5:00 AM. All establishments must close no later than 9:00 PM For full details: https://www.visitaruba.com/traveling-to-aruba/entry-requirements-and-visas/aruba-travel-restrictions-covid-19/ This is false information, but maybe that’s what Celebrity wants? Aruba only requires masks while indoors, there is no longer a curfew, but restaurants must close at midnight and casinos at 1:00 am. Also, Aruba doesn’t care about vaccination cards. They require a negative PCR test within 3 days of arriving, but seems that cruise ships usually don’t have to follow this if one port for only one day…..not sure about an overnight

DH & I board on the 25th , also for a 5 night. We watched your sail away & can’t wait! Our first cruise in 22months! Hard to believe only 300 pax! Will probably be a similar number for our sailing- a yacht indeed! Would love to hear about your sailing on a separate thread. ENJOY!

Bet the 'retreat hosts' have all been asked a million times, too! I learned to tie a similar type tie, not as tight, when I was a Girl Scout camp counselor. The girls were give a tie that showed how many years they’d been to camp in a color that identity which group. There were about 24 kids as I recall and on Sundays they were supposed to wear their ties and white shirts! The numbers were only on one side and the know was supposed to be smooth in the middle. After tying them all summer I got pretty good at it. Hated it at first, but we didn’t even have mirrors. Love full Windsor’s and had to have hubby tie a regular tie for me. Easier to do because I could take it off without untying! Edited September 21, 2021 by Benthayer Gonbak

While many complain about portion size, I have to say we have been asking for 1/2 portions and like you just soup and salad. Right? We’ve been sharing desert, and if we have something heavy for an appetizer like a pasta dish, we share that as well. We are very grateful the portions are not bigger! Her own story is an interesting one..I think she is probably a pretty lovely person. I have bought and saved on kindle her most recent book...saving it for the next cruise. Two treats in one...a cruise and a great book. I’m a Gamache fan, too - my sister & her daughters as well. For a major birthday celebration in September 2018, I treated my sister and the girls to a trip to Quebec province and the Eastern Townships where the series is based. We had so much fun and stayed at the incredible Manoir Hovey. Two months later, I took my sister to a book signing evening at the Tampa Theater where Louise was interviewed and signed our copies of her new book at the time. She was quite personable and we loved meeting her. I’m also saving her new book for my next cruise.
upwarduk Posted September 21, 2021 #1848 Share Posted September 21, 2021 (edited) Hcat, Thanks for the picture of the Natural Bridge. I did read that it is no longer a feature.🙈 A different Aruba from when our son worked there, the Oil refinery has also gone. I believe that is now centred on Curaçao. But, the colours in Jim’s photos make me wish that we could visit again. Many thanks. Edited September 21, 2021 by upwarduk
