PLUS on the Oasis you not only have your card scanned then go over to the sink but when you're through your breakfast or lunch you exit the Windjammer from a different door you came in.

Also, scan your sea pass on the way out.  Washy Washy.😄

They do scan your sea pass card upon entering, so they can control the number of people inside at one time.

Cafe Promenade has cookies too😜.

I think it's more to do with contact tracing.

Grandson on the Mariner 3 nighter told us earlier that on today's stop in Nassau people were asked to stay under cover from a heavy passing thunderstorm. Anyone else on that ship experience that? He lives in Florida so it wasnt anything too surprising.

Mac,

who is the D Club concierge and sutie concierge? I was wonderign if one of them was Claudine?

Suite lounge concierges are Rahul and Nadia. The one time we stopped at the D lounge, there was a man at the desk. Im

guessing his name was not Claudine —- but I didn’t ask.

Fingers crossed for smooth sailing on October 3!

So glad you had a great cruise and things are going well for cruising in general.

Lorraine

Thanks.

We have had a great time. Really getting spoiled with the low capacity. It will be quite a shock to have a full ship again, whenever that may be.

We couldn’t resist a trip to Next Cruise and booked the same week next year. Also contemplating an early May 2022 sailing. Tough to resist when it’s only 100 miles away.

Definitely NOT Claudine for the D Club concierge. A gentleman holds that title we found him to have a so-so attitude when it came to asking questions.

I forget the answer, did you have to wear contact tracelets or Oasis doing facial recognition.

Nope, no contact tracelets were given out, only a blue rubber wrist band to keep on showing you were vaccinated. No facial recognition on board the Oasis. The debarkation process went well. Put your tv on and wait for your color tag to show up then proceed down to deck 5 aft. The only facial recognition set up was with Customs. There weren't any in their booths that we were accustomed to go to, only the screen that you looked into with your Passport in your hand. Ahhh what technology !!

Yes, that facial recognition system for customs is so nice and convenient.  We used that at some ports in the past, I think Nj had it when we did our cruise in 2019 out of bayonne.  Been too long to remember.

No tracelets. Vaccination bad was white this week. They rotate the colors every week. Not sure how many they have, but one lady in Coastal Kitchen one night had three of them on, and said she had one more consecutive cruise to go. Nothing like a B4B!!!

So, we are home. Actually walked in the door at 9:57am. Here is a little recap of the morning.

We were going to do self assist, but the SL concierge did not recommend it. Since we were in a Suite, we have "Suite/Pinnacle" luggage tags and they have their own area in the terminal. We were able to disembark as soon as they called the first number up to 9:15am. I believe the first number was called about 6:45am give or take a bit. There is no more congregating in the common area waiting for your number to be called. You are asked to go back to your stateroom. There are no announcements, everything is on TV channel 2. This process and muster 2.0 may be the only good things that have come out of the last 18ish months.

So, we put our two bags out by around 10 last night. Had a backpack and the wife's purse to bring ourselves. Went to Coastal Kitchen for breakfast around 6:40am, finished up around 7:20. Didn't want to leave but we had to. We went back to our room to get our remaining stuff and made our way down to the gangway on deck 5, right next to the Bionic Bar (where I never saw more than 2 or 3 people all week). A quick tap of the Sea Pass card and we are out ---- no, wait, can't leave --- terminal says we need to be "escorted" off. Hmmm,

Two or three minutes later someone came to take us off ( and one other couple). I was wondering if I just won the lottery and got a personal escort or if it was something else. It was something else. We had made a "purchase" onboard that --- shall we say --- exceeded the customs limit(s). However, the item was made in the USA so no declaration was necessary. But that's not obvious just looking at the amount. So, off we go to get our luggage and visit a customs agent. Big luggage area, and with only 2000 people it pretty empty. We wander over to the Suite area -- lots of unclaimed bass at this hour, I guess a lot of folks are hanging on as long as they can before they leave. First blue bag -- check !! Second blue bag --- anywhere -- somewhere -- anywhere --- no where to be found. Two nice terminal ladies asked the color and name and went to some other area. After about 15 minutes they reappeared with the bag. Seems the tag had fallen off. They put all the bags without a tag in a separate area for easy searching.

Off to customs --- the agent asked what we bought. I told him and said it was made in the USA. He asked how much we spent. I told him. He asked if that was they only thing we bought. I said yes. He asked if we had the receipt. I said sure --- except we couldn't find it and said it is probably packed in the suitcase. He asked what color the envelope was that the paperwork was in . I told him. He said thank you and have a nice day. Circled back through facial recognition and we were off to get the car in the parking garage.

Parking garage is very convenient. You pay BEFORE you go to your car. There are terminals right outside the door with helpful folks to move the line along. Up to the car, back down to pick up DW and luggage and off we go. We exited the garage at 8:03am, in the door home at 9:57.

Can't believe the toll at the George Washington Bridge is $16. Between that and some others, it was probably $30 in tolls round-trip. For about 225 miles. Gotta love NY/NJ.

We did book the Oasis for the same time next year and may add another one in the Spring. My wife would go every month. The proximity to our house makes it easy, don't have to leave the cats for too long at a time -- and Aqua80 is the best aqua show by a large margin, IMHO.

I hope I have been able to answer everyone's questions and for those of you sailing soon I hope you have a great time. Low capacity ships are awesome!

Next adventure -- Celebrity Edge at the end of October. Wander over to the Celebrity boar -- I'll probably do another "Live...." thread.

Expensive way to be collecting bands of all colors.😁

That's the way to double your point status or if she's travelling solo she's getting  quadruple points.
