Latitudes lunch

First "formal" for the Manhattan room just means no shorts.  And that applies to dinner, not lunch or tea.  Secondly, the invite says party, not lunch.  Years ago, NCL changed their latitudes party to an early in the day time from the pre dinner time it used to be.  Knowing NCL, they probably save a lot of money on those free drinks since people are less likely to attend a 12:30 party over a 5:30 party.  You can expect wait staff serving wine, mai tais and rum punch from trays.  It you ask, they will get you any drink you want from the bar.  They will also be passing canapes which have declined over the years to a bunch of things no one really wants to eat.

Please post here just what it was like.   Never heard of a Latitudes Lunch!!   The time is more like a lunch time than the usual time for the Latitudes Cocktail party.   No one would go to a Latitudes Cocktail party to miss their lunch surely!

As already stated, it is the standard, disappointing latitudes party.  They have had a noonish start time now for a few years.  Free drinks and snacks to go with the CruiseNext sales pitch.  Speaking of which, CruiseNext solicits you about 20 times to buy your next coupons.

Good to see that some things never change and I can skip this one.  I have no problem buying a couple CruiseNext certs to replenish the ones I used for this cruise but the marketing IS a bit much.

/Sarcasm-on Now please tell me there's still an art auction! 🙂

forever. on almost all NCL ships, the aft most dinning room is always formal.

Exception - - - dress code on the sail away day/night your fancy duds

(luggage) may not have been delivered to your stateroom to change clothes into.

As for NCL - Formal is the new Smart Casual - no tuxes required

An Upscale FreeStyle wardrobe !

It’s a cocktail party, not lunch.  The senior officers will be introduced, the Cruise Next Manager will introduce any Ambassador Latitudes members and maybe recognize the other Latitudes groups.  The band will play, the drinks will flow, and you’ll all have good time.  Then you can leave Manhattan and find a restaurant that’s actually open for lunch.
