Freedom denied Cococay

Just heard that Freedom is not being allowed to disembark at Cococay.  Any news on this??

Game Changer!!! Now I will sit back and await the new Lift and Shift option for 2022 (1st Quarter Sailings). This restriction will affect all 3, 4, 5 and longer sailings for eastern caribbean.  And before people start yelling at me...I am just looking at this logically from a business and a consumer perspective.

Here we go again.  We're 46 days out until our cruise, which has a stop at Cococay.  If this keeps up, I'll be moving this cruise to next fall.

RCL would not allow us to reschedule.  Was going on Anthem for NYE.  Gave us full refund except for NRD which will be FCC.  Some people on same cruise were allowed to reschedule.  I assume my deal was too advantages for us .

Waiting to see what happens in the next few weeks as we have an upcoming cruise and cococay is one of our favorite spots.

We are supposed to sail next week.  I have no idea if Cozumel or Roatan will let us in, and now if Cococay will be open.  I'm all for 6 sea days........... but we'll see.

I am on the Mariner now. We are supposed to have coco cay tomorrow. There hasn’t been any mention of issues at all for us. Here’s hoping we are clear.

Post on Twitter also stating the Norwegian Gem is also being denied disembarkation at Great Stirrup Cay right next to CocoCay.

Cozumel and roatan havent closed to any ships that I'm aware of? Why would you worry if so far both of these have been open .. though roatan my rcl guide seemed to say if we didnt wear our masks she and us could be arrested and go to jail.

Up until today, CocoCay was open.  🙂

CocoCay being closed will alter a lot of cruises, especially the shorter ones.

No-one has said it’s closed, just that one cruise has been denied permission to disembark passengers.

 

Still concerning, but big difference.

RC will make a deal with the Bahamas government for an exemption for CocoCay.

It's gotta be ship specific, because there are 3-4 ships docked in Nassau currently.

Let's see what happens with the cases on the Freedom first. Then see if any ships dock there tomorrow and over the weekend.

So which happens first.......they run out of islands to go to or they run out of crew....not good.
