There is no smoking anywhere indoors on Celebrity, casino, theater, restaurants, staterooms, all are smoke free

Or on balconies. Smoking on outside decks is also strictly limited. The rules also include e cigarettes.

My Wife’s favorite place on a Celebrity cruise ship is the Casino (that’s why we will never sail on a Viking Ocean ship) so a Non Smoking Casino is a big incentive for us when it comes to picking a cruise line.

we also like the RCCL Oasis class big ships but the stink of the smoking in their casinos limits her playing time and requires putting her clothes out on the balcony when she returns to our cabin.

Well done Celebrity!

Makes a big difference that Celebrity's casinos are non smoking.  When we sail on Royal, we avoid Casino's like the plague.  The stench is awful.

Wish that Royal would also ban smoking-  Makes Celebrity the better option.

And then there were those that said it would fail do to lost revenue for Celebrity.

Agree RC needs to follow Celebrity's lead. RC did stop smoking in the casinos for a New York minute when cruising started back up. But RC couldn't the kick the habit so smoking is again allowed in their casinos.

Some said no Land based Casino is Non Smoking.

Surprise! Macau has Giant Las Vegas style Resort-Casinos and most are Completely Non Smoking!

Thats really Surprising as their biggest clientele are Chinese that travel to Macau for the legal Gambling and China does nothing to discourage Smoking and A lot of Chinese are smokers.
I am Not bashing the Chinese. My Wife of 36 years is Chinese from Hong Kong.

Whoa, didn't realize Royal Caribbean allowed smoking in casinos!  We were thinking of trying Royal since they cruise out of Port Canaveral, but we may change our minds on that now.

HAL has crazy rule allowing smoking in casinos on their newer ships, but no smoking in casinos of most of their older ships..supposedly has to do with design of ships and smoke blowing to nearby venues. So...while we prefer Celebrity, we will sail HAL for the itinerary IF it is on one of their older non smoking casino ships.

And due to the poor ventilation systems in their casinos (at least the Radiance, Voyager and Freedom class ships) the stench drifts out into the nearby venues. But we still book RC cruises.

Having only cruised on Celebrity ships, I had no idea there was still smoking in casinos on any cruises! In this day and age, this blows my mind that it is permissible at all.  - very surprised to read this in recent months while looking at a couple different cruiselines.

Really if people are smoking they go into place other cruise venues the stench is on their clothes and circulates around the ship.  Ventilation doesn’t help

Good ventilation system would help remove the stench from the casino so it doesn't drift out in the other nearby venues.

We were on RCCL’s New Wonder of the Seas for one of its first US cruises.
to try to contain the smoking stench they put big glass electric sliding doors on the casino.

That didn’t help very much but when you got close enough to activate the door you got the full effect as you entered.

it seems on ships that are sailing in cooler areas the smokers use the casino as their Indoor smoking lounge.😜

mid you win money playing Bingo you have to go to the casino teller to claim your Cash winnings.

It is absurd that RCCL would allow casino smoking on a brand new ship (or any other ship).  Just eliminate it (like Celebrity) and the few people smoking will deal with it by taking breaks outside.  That is what they do on most land venues in this day and age.

Obviously, the money says otherwise. I wish it didn't.

I was on the Mariner of the Seas last month...most nights it wasn't all that noticeable in the Casino..one night it was...what really bothers me is the non players that are allowed to smoke..one night at the Craps table, two folks were just watching and smoking..table not crowded..one player mentioned it to the dealer, nothing was done.  3 out of 5 playing customers left...I was one of them.  Dealer asked why we were coloring up...we told him.  It's not a smoking lounge, at least it's not supposed to be.

When I find myself on Royal, I gamble MUCH less.
