Drink Package HMC Questions

 Share

Recommended Posts

I have been to Half Moon Cay with Carnival but not Holland America. I am just learning that a drink package is available on HMC when sailing on HA?

Is that still being offered? How much? If I am with DW do we both need to purchase it? I saw a video tour of HMC and a 15 drink limit is mentioned. Isn't that the same rule as the on ship drink package? Do those drinks all count against the 15? For example, if I have 4 on HMC does my limit on board become 11 for that day?

First time Holland America passenger, thank you for helping me learn the ropes.

The Half Moon Cay drink package is totally separate from the onboard drink package. Crew News (one of the regular posters here) has a FABULOUS website where you can find tons of HAL information. Welcome to the Holland America family!

I have found some of the answers and I will add them here incase it might be helpful.

When I go on to manage my cruise I click on purchase beverages and the option pops up to buy the HMC drink package for $29. The package is good only on MHC and limits each person to 15 alcoholic drinks that cost up to $11. Soft drinks and water are included in the package. Each person over 21 in your cabin has to purchase. It does not say if it can be purchased once on the island but the requirement for everyone to purchase leads me to believe this needs to be purchased ahead of time. It does not specify if the drinks on this package count toward the 15 limit on board. I am sure that won't be an issue but I don't like to assume.

We have the Have It all so I didn't bother looking for drink packages until I heard you can get one for HMC. I am not sure yet If I will be getting it but Its nice to know it's available.

You will be on HMC for such a short time that it won't even be happy hour time by the time you catch the last tender.  I'm not much of a day drinker and it would be crazy to consume alot that early.  But, as usual, I could be wrong.

Keep in mind the break even cost of the HMC drink package is about 3 alcoholic drinks or 2 plus a couple of sodas or waters.

If you have anyone with you under 21, and are buying them sodas/waters (yes I know the rules state no sharing), the $29.44 (after 18% tip) HMC drink package starts to become pretty reasonable.  I say under 21 because the HMC drink package only applies to those 21+ in your cabin.

Hmm. Can anyone confirm that frozen daiquiris or margaritas run close to the $11 limit?

Little bit of dredging up old topics, but *where* in Manage my Booking can this be found?  I've been looking for this drink package for days.  Is it not always offered?

It has recently been removed from the list of beverage packages. Had been available on all cruises that stop at HMC until then.

I checked the descriptions ot the Signature and Elite packages in hopes they now cover HMC. Unfortunately they still exclude  HMC beverages. Maybe just waiting for an update? Maybe now that the Caribbean season has started, someone will report back.

We port at HMC 2x on our B2B beginning Nov 26.  We have the HIA pkg for both legs of our cruise. I hope to stock up on a couple of bottles of water to take to shore with us.  But if that isn't possible, we will just buy once we get there.  No way can hubby & I drink $60 worth in a 7hr time frame.  My question is can we use OBC to buy individual beverages on HMC?  You use your sign & sail card if I remember correctly...

You can use OBC to pay for any charges against your room, except casino.
