Not a fan of discrimination out of the person’s control, whoever the target.

And the ‘ad’ is just tacky.

Discrimination?  LOL.    Virgin is an adult's only cruise line.

The ad is funny and very well done.

I wish folks who don't want children onboard a family cruise line will consider taking a different CruiseLine/ or vacation and stop complaining about kids .  If you don't want kids onboard, don't take a line that caters to families. And, don't sail over summer or a major US holiday and complain even louder.  We've taken numerous cruises (many in the summer or over holidays) and can honestly say we've never been bothered by kids on board.   Have  we seen kids run in the hallway or get in the elevator before we've had a chance to get off, of course,  but who cares?   We recently sailed Easter week on Harmany with 1500 kids.  NO ISSUES.

Lighten up

Seriously, kids running the halls and ringing doorbells, etc at all hours of the night is OK with you?  That is the main complaint I have seen on this thread.  Seems legit to me.

Heck, kids just running period.  Some of the ones I saw running (fast) and up and down stairs weigh as much as I do and are taller.  They can do a lot of damage if they knock someone over, especially someone older.

All it takes one discretely placed foot and that can be easily stopped. 😜

We used to be frequent visitors to Walt Disney World, and of course running kids are the norm there.  One time a kid of about 6 or 8 was running past me when I took a step and turned to look at something.  I didn't even see him coming so it was purely an accident.  He smacked right into me, almost knocking me down and then he face-planted on the pavement.  He got up crying and yelling at me.  His parents, who were paying no attention started coming at me and yelling.  Luckily, a cast member saw the whole thing and the family was escorted away from the area, presumably to get the kid medical care.  Had I done that as a kid, my parents would have beat my butt!

The norm now is, when you don't watch your kids and something happens, you blame everyone and everything else.

The norm in the 70's and 80's, when you didn't watch your kids and something happened, you blamed the kid every time as kids didn't get away with anything and it was assumed the kid was in fault.

Now all the kiddies are coddled and are perfect and can do no wrong (I have kids and blame them first lol). Go on any parenting page on social media and you will see it everyday. Parents have changed and not in a good way all the time.

And there you have it, previous generations had physical violence (or the threat of) at their disposal which made parenting much easier. It is now illegal to lay a hand on a kid so we must try other, less effective, methods of teaching our children how to behave.

Don't sail on the Oasis Class.

Haven't yet, will leave that Class to my Kids and Grands. Cruise longer 10+ niters and Repo's on Radiance and Vision Class, at most we have 20-50 Kids onboard

As far as I know, it is not illegal to spank your own child as long as it does not cross the line into actual abuse.  I was never abused by my parents, and there were no permanent marks, but my butt would hurt enough after a spanking that just the threat of more punishment had me straighten up right away.

Would it make you feel like a big person picking on a kid who's just trying to have fun?

It was really just a joke, but there are many things I like to do to to just have fun, but I am not allowed to do them where it would interfere with others.  For example, I enjoy driving very fast and shooting targets.  I can't do those things in public around other people.  I have to pay to use special facilities (tracks, shooting ranges) where it is safe.  If I ignore that rule and do them anyway, I could end up in jail, or worse, injuring others.  Children need to learn that "having fun" is allowed until it becomes an infringement or safety hazard for others.  Unfortunately, many parents today simply don't care, or they are too busy staring at their phones to mind their children.

Imagine for a minute the uproar on here should someone come on and suggest, even in jest, to intentionally trip a senior?

There are appropriate places to be running, and inappropriate ones. I'll just leave that thought there for you to ponder.

Who can and should be taught where the appropriate places are to run, anywhere. Just like screaming. Fun screaming is one thing, the blood curdling is not needed. That is taught also but it seems easier for parents to just ignore it all and say kids will be kids.

The tacky ad has us talking about it which means it's a highly effective ad. Come on though, it's also humorous you must admit.
