Are aqua class travelers automatically assigned to Blu for dinner reservations?

Blue is the assigned dining room for upper class passengers. If you have been making reservations on the Celebrity website, they don’t go anywhere. Lu does not take reservations. The website contains an old system left over from days before there was Blu and they’ve never updated it so it looks like you are making reservations but you are not.

If you ever want to eat in the main dining room instead of Blu, talk to the maître d’ at Blu and they will help arrange it for you. You do not have a table reserved for you in the main dining room

What are upper class passengers?  I don't think I've heard that before.

We just got off the Summit (Bermuda)  This was our 1st time in Aqua Class....big waste of money...or at least on this ship.  Very, small cabins....bathroom barely holds one person, with a small shower.  Blu food was below par....sent back the fish on one night, steaks on the next night.  The lobster tail, however, was outstanding.  2 mornings of "special" room service resulted in late delivery and stone cold food....

Have you been in suites?  When you sent the food back was it fixed?

Couple thoughts.  Aqua cabins are almost exactly the same size as Verandas.   The room service is not special.  It simply has a couple additional choices and is delivered by the same staff as everyone else.

We love Blu, but only book Aqua when the extra cost is small.

Sorry you were disappointed.  Sounds like several cruises when the number of passengers rose and there was not sufficient staff on board - in every cabin category from inside to suites.

Actually, on M class ships the Concierge and Aqua class cabins are about 20 sf larger than verandahs.  EM

As others have said, Aqua Class passengers are assigned to the Blu restaurant/dining room, which has no set reservation time. You can show up whenever you like, during their operational hours, for breakfast and dinner.

However, I do understand that there can be some confusion when looking at your reservation online. I've noticed ours never reference Blu (or Luminae when we're in a suite), but simply say "Open Dining - Seating Time Anytime". For example, the picture below is from our upcoming sailing in Aqua Class on the Constellation. But, you are, indeed, assigned to Blu when traveling Aqua Class.

Hope that's helpful.

When in Blu you can if you wish order a dish or dishes from the day’s menu in MDR.

In our experience one benefit of Blu is that the wine flows more freely, almost as freely as the iced water!

All part of what is a more personalised experience in a small restaurant. It’s the principal reason we generally choose Aqua on Celebrity.

200~sf is not much, some research ahead of time would have prepared you for the you “very small cabin”. If you need more space on an M or S class ship you should book the retreat for the larger cabin and bathroom for 2.
Did you try the MDR since Blu was so disappointing?

Several years ago we had Aqua Class on a 12 night Med cruise, only booked because Concierge was all sold out. Did Blu and the food was fine (I’m a pretty basic eater so I don’t care about fancy), but as it was our first cruise ever we wanted to experience the MDR. After we did so, we got multiple phone calls from various people wanting to know why we didn’t want to eat in Blu that evening. It got irritating pretty quickly.
