Using OBC credit in casino

If you use OBC I've never been charged the 5% fee.   You just go to the cage and tell them you want to use xx amount of OBC for chips.   They will give you "promo" chips which can't be cashed out directly.   You bet them and any winnings are provided in real chips.

You can also pre-purchase chips in your cruise planner for a 10% bonus.  Buy $50 and get $55.  You can use your Celebrity OBC for purchases on cruise planner.

One additional tip regarding the use of "promo" chips.  If you are Elite or higher on Celebrity, you receive three "match play" coupons to use at the gaming tables.  You can't use the "match plays" with the promo chips, so you either need to use the chips you received on winning hands (regular chips) or you'll need to buy some regular chips at the table.

Also, make sure to use up your promo chips first and keep your winnings to the side, because you can't cash out your promo chips.

Also, we've never been assessed a 5% fee.

We had a small balance of OBC left on our recent cruise. I’m am strictly a table player, but if you cash OBC in for table games you only get promo chips. Instead, I cashed it in for slots. It was put on my card. After I played what I wanted I was able to cash it in for cash. No fees

Hello Just got off Infinity this pass Saturday, they are letting you use onboard credit at the casino, you go to the casino casher cage , you tell them how much you want to play, they will print out and hand you a cash ticket like the one that comes out of the slot machine, you take that put in in any slot machine and play , Me and the wife did this with 800.00 non- refundable ship board credit. sometimes we cash some out other times we would cash out at the slot machine and use it for play later, I don't know but Casino Host said this was fleet wide.

How does one pre-purchase casino chips to get the 10% bonus?  I admit that I am not computer savvy but did not see anything on the Celebrity website under "Manage My Reservation."  Any help will be appreciated.

Again- the slot machine credits you get cannot be cashed out.  Play them on the cruise of lose them.  They are played first.  Anything you win is fine to turn into cash.

For Chips go to the Cashier. For Slots you can create an account on any machine and download how ever much you want at a time. Easy to do, the Casino Staff will talk you through it.

On the Eclipse in June I went to the cashier and got a slot machine credit using some of my non refundable OBC. (Could not do it at a machine as it asked for a PIN, which I did not have on my key card.) I fed the slip of paper into a penny machine, played a bit then cashed out the remainder and took that slip to the cashier for cash. No fees, except what I lost, lol.

It's in the same place in your account where you see your reservation there is a link for "Manage My Reservation" but below that is a big blue button "Plan My Cruise".  Once you go in there you should see the amount of OBC you have from Celebrity at the top right of the screen.

In the pull down menu "My Celebrity Cruise" there will be an entry for Casino where you can buy chips or slot play with the 10% bonus in $50 increments.

Sorry, you are incorrect.  You can get cash for slot machine credits not played.  It is the table chips that MUST be used and are not redeemable for cash.

Some ships you can others you can't.

If they give you a ticket at the cage then yes you can probably cash it out.  If the load it onto your card it's definitely promo and must be bet.  If you can transfer from you seapass at the machine you can cash it out.   Some ships like Constellation and Reflection machines don't allow you to transfer from your seapass to the machine directly.

So the answer is you are both right.  Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.

Remember if they intended for you to be able to directly convert OBC to cash they would do it at guest relations.

You set your own pin when you register on the slot machines - it’s a very easy process and, as others have said, the casino staff will assist if you have any problems.

Agree.  We've tried this on multiple cruises this past year.  On some ships I could transfer and then cash out my OBC on slots and on others I could not.  And to make it even more confusing, on Equinox I was able to transfer and cash out some $$, but after doing it several times (due to my experience on other ships I didn't want to load too much just in case) they prevented me from transferring any more.  I was able to continue transferring the next day however.   Very confusing.  I'm glad on some ships we can transfer and cash out the OBC which we never used to be able to do, but I wish it would be consistent on each ship.  That's why if I'm intending to do this, I always start with a small amount, as worst case I can use it to play.

Can promo chips be bet alone or due you need  to match with regular chips?

You can bet just promo chips and winnings paid out in regular chips.  The Regular Chips can then be cashed out or you can also gamble them away.

Many have advised me of the best odds that you can redeem 85% just by the odds of the game.    I just don't like gambling.

I had $60 OBC remaining on the last night of my cruise; I put my room card in the slot machine, charged $60 to my room; hit max bet, actually won a few bucks on first spin, printed ticket. Cashed out. No problem. So even if I had lost part of it, I could have still printed a ticket and cashed out.

I got off the Eclipse this morning.  I had a lot of non refundable OBC.  After we finished spending what we were gonna spend (specialty dining, bang trim, etc) I went to the casino.  I could load even multiples of 50.00 from my OBC.  I got a slip with the amount (50.00  or 100) which I put into the slot machine.  I'd usually cash out as soon as I was ahead, although sometimes when I was down about a dollar or so.  I was able to get cash for all of it.

I know on both the Summit and Equinox, I was able to  directly load the machine from my account in any amount.  The employee at the cage told me that that's the new system, but the Eclipse is on the old system.  She didn't have any idea when it would be updated.

We play Roulette to convert OBC to cash and have come out ahead on every cruise.

We only play on the 💲5 tables (one is usually 10) and if possible on the the one with the single Zero. We buy a l💲50 of chips at a time.

We play each chip to cover 4 numbers (making sure there are no overlaps). Keep the promotional chips and the winning chips separately. When all promotional chips have been played cash out and walk away. Repeat daily. With this method we have a bit of fun most evenings with very little risk ( and if you don't have a drinks package a free drink whilst playing) and convert most, if not all of our OBC to cash - for us it's a  win win.
