Flat hand over her so that her nose would hit it and a stern “uh uh” or “no”.

if that doesn’t work, “make like a tree and be perfectly still” or turn your back on her.

Thanks for your suggestions Jacqui.  I plan on using them when we arrive.  I'll also ask DD what she is doing to prevent Sadie jumping up on her.

Puppy kindergarten class doesn't start for 2 more weeks.  I hope both Sadie and her parents learn a lot.🐕

Good day all. We are headed to a temp of 93f with a feels like temp of 109. And it is very humid. The only saving grace is that it is cloudy or it would be hotter! Will enjoy the pool next door for sure this afternoon. Our wise Wednesday women are having maple glazed salmon, Brussels sprouts, local sweet corn and Caesar salad this evening.

prayers for those needing them and will hoist a drink later for those celebrating

Thank you for the Hump Day Report, Rich.  An interesting collection of days; have not heard of Cloves Syndrome (and surprisingly, never heard of TENS before yesterday).  While I have been to several Japanese Ports I am coming to realize how many I have not been to (including Sakaiminato,).  Love the Game of Thrones quote.  I think I'll pass on the Chile.  My alternative is Apple. Pear, and Cucumber Salad, Steak from Surf and Turf, and Almond and Orange Cake as served on MS Westerdam August 3, 2018.

I meant to mention the passing of Vin Scully, thanks for posting.

Skully was a class act and the last of the great baseball broadcasters from the Golden Age of Baseball like Red Barber, Mel Allen, Bob Elson, Jack Brickhouse, Harry Caray Bob Prince, Jack Buck, Ernie Harwell, Harry Kalas and a few others.

May Vin Scully rest in peace.

Yikes!  First the snafu with the wheelchair at the airport and now this.  Wishing you and Sue continued negativity.

Some people seem to live with a black storm cloud over their heads.  Thank you for your warm wishes.

Good morning. I love the recipes thanks Debbie @dfish.dfish.I am sorry that Donna has tested positive  and hope you and Sue continued  to be negative. Oh my on the lost luggage.

We continue to feel slowly better except for Tana and DH who have had fevers, night sweats and coughing.Tana's pulmonary fibrosis  diagnosis and constant O2 use complicates the situation  significantly. Of course, I am a world class worrier and have to work at remaining calm when things get a little dicey.

I'm glad things are on the upswing for you.  I hope Tana and your DH have some improvement soon.

Update, back from hand Dr , no surgery at this time. Going the Botox route. He has to get authorization from the insurance company first, not sure how long it will take. The procedure will take about an hour and last 3/4 months, with PT to follow.

Well, it is a plan.  Hopefully the insurance company will approve the Botox and you'll be feeling better quickly.

@kazu thank you for the updates on Shadow. You realize that she has become the Dailyite rescue dog and we all have an emotional investment.

Yes, Shadow is the Daily's dog!

@dfish fingers crossed that you stay negative. Between Donna testing positive and Sue’s lost luggage, let’s hope you’re the one that dodges the bullet!

I hope, I hope, I hope!

DW and I are in our Boston hotel room ready to board the N. Statendam.  We’ve received conflicting info from HAL regarding our boarding time.   Couple of days ago, we received an email that we should not show up until 2:00 because the ship will be having an inspection.  Our boarding pass now shows 11:20, which is earlier than it’s been showing.  The hotel is allowing us a late check out, so I think we will walk next door and have lunch and then decide when to call Uber.

P.S.  Welcome @RedneckBob!

Thanks Mtn2Sea,  as far as boarding times, happened to us in June on Eurodam to Alaska. Went from 1:20 pm to 12:20pm to 1:00pm to as you wish boarding 😀

Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily.

I like nuts and will snack on almonds. My floors are clean, so not today. People with Cloves Syndrome can have a tough time of it. Excellent quote.

The meal sounds good. I like the drink. I'll pass on the white wine.

I haven't been to Japan.

It's due to be really hot here today and cooling centers are opening. I am soooo sleepy! I've been fighting with Windows 11 on my PC; the last couple of updates wouldn't install. I saw others with issues when I searched, and tried a few things that didn't work. I didn't want to get too technical, but last night decided to reinstall Windows from an ISO. Of course I started at 11, so I was up until 1AM to watch things. That got one update in there. This AM I did a manual update rather than using the PC Windows Update and woohoo, all is good!

The hand is less sore and the lump is smaller. I still can't figure out how it happened. I took Benadryl this AM in addition to being up too late, as it's shot day. I could use a nap! I think it works better than the non-sedating stuff. BFF wants to go out to a late lunch later. It's too hot to sit outside, so hopefully the restaurant won't be too busy when we go.

@kazu I agree with what others said yesterday; up to you to choose your path during this time, and friends should be supportive. Thanks for the pictures of Shadow. Interesting info on the names and how they sound.

@Cruzin Terri Safe travels and I hope your injections today help.

@marshhawk I hope the new Dermatologist is to your liking.

@grapau27 Thanks for the info on Cloves Syndrome.

@dfish Sorry to hear that Donna tested positive; I hope you and Sue stay negative.  Thanks for the recipes!

@1ANGELCAT Thanks for the  hand specialist update. Interesting on the BOTOX. Good luck!

@aliaschief Great photos. Thanks for taking us along.

@RedneckBob Welcome to the Daily!

@Overhead Fred Safe travels to the cabin and have a great time.

@smitty34877 I'm glad some are somewhat better, but sorry to hear DH and Tana are having those symptoms. Prayers for your family.

@Mtn2Sea Bon Voyage!

Prayers for the Care List and a Toast to the Celebration List.

Stay safe everyone.

Thanks Jazzy V

Welcome to the Daily RNB.  I have enjoyed your travel logs in the past, along with your humor.  As far as the toots, once the ships return to FLL for the season, Scrapnana gives us a sailaway thread for each departure from Port Everglades, so that is where we enjoy the toots.

Thanks travelnap, look forward to FLL this season as we depart on N Statendam this Dec.

Good morning all!

We're enjoying the cooler temps the past few days.  It will warm up again this weekend.

The nuts I grab are almonds, cashews and peanuts -- always "on hand" (lol) in the pantry.  I also had to look up Cloves Syndrome.  I do need to clean the kitchen floor, and should make use of this cooler day to do that.  The 2nd recipe looks good to me, as do the wine and drink too.  Have never been to Japan, thanks for any photos to come!

Oh my Debbie @dfishabout Donna.  I know what you mean about feeling like you're the only ones on the plane wearing a mask.  I'm sure that's how our DD got it flying home from Yellowstone in June.  Prayers that you and Sue remain negative and Donna's symptoms are mild.

@RedneckBobwelcome to the Daily!  I've always enjoyed your posts and humor.  You're a welcome addition to our little group here.

My appointment about my arm isn't until this afternoon.  Thank you all for the advice yesterday, I'll let you know what the verdict is.  I do know I won't accept steroids, I'd rather live with the pain than deal with the side effects of a temporary "fix".

Have a great day everyone!

Thanks Crusing-along, Boy I am getting worn out writing all these Thank you posts. I would not say this is a small group.

Predictive text Roy?.

Being from England I didn't know who Vin Scully was.

My phone does it all the time even when I write the correct word and why I end up with a few edits if I post too quickly.

@RedneckBobwelcome to the Daily

@kazuyou are wonderful to work so hard and successfully with Shadow/Little. She is such an elegant looking dog even if not purebred. My DBIL used to say his dog was an Allmutt when asked the breed. People thought it was a real breed.

@smitty34877 prayers for all of you to recover, especially Tana and your DH. You are wonderful for the care you give your family.

Prayers for all who need them and joy to those with something to celebrate.

Good morning!  Thank you for today’s Fleet and Daily Rich. Thanks to everyone for sharing.

I haven’t read the entire Daily yet but wanted to ask this question before it got too late. Yesterday’s port of call had me thinking about transatlantic cruises. It’s on my cruise list and we even have one scheduled for April next year. For all of you who have done a transatlantic, which direction is your preference and why?

Good afternoon.  It's been a busy on the Fleet/Daily.  I hope I have not forgotten anyone or anything.

On my grocery run, I wound up having to go to both stores since the good deal I was looking for had been printed in the store flyer by mistake.  The actual price was almost twice the flyer price.  😬  By going to the other store, I found the same thing for only 25 cents more than the incorrect price.  At least, I got out and back before it got hot as usual.

@aliaschief  Thank you for today's pictures.  We noticed the different colored strips on the sheep the last time we were in Scotland.  We were told that each farmer spray painted the back of his sheep a different color or combination of colors.  The sheep are great escape artists, and will join other flocks when they get loose.  The paint is the best way to prove that the extra sheep in the flock is yours.

@RedneckBob  Welcome to the Fleet/Daily Report.  I've also enjoyed your posts over the years.  If you want to save time in responding to all the welcoming posts, you can either multi-quote by clicking on the + in the quote box of each post you want to quote.  When you are ready to post, there will be a box to the lower right of the quote box, and it will show how many posts you're responding to. Just click on that box, and the quotes will appear in the quote box.  The other way is what we call the blue bubble.  Your get that by typing the @ sign, and then the CC user name.  There will be a drop box under what you typed with the user name or a list of names.  Just click on the name, and the blue bubble will appear -- that is if things are working correctly.  Sometimes, CC gets ornery.  😉

@Overhead Fred  Safe travels tomorrow, and enjoy your time at the cottage.

@smitty34877  Terry, I'm sorry Tana and your DH are still having such bad symptoms.  I hope they improve quickly and feel better soon.  I'm glad the rest of the family is slowly improving.  Hope it turns into improving quickly.

@1ANGELCAT  I'm glad you finally have a plan for the hand pain.  I hope this fixes things, and you don't need surgery later.

@Mtn2Sea  Hopefully, by now you are on the ship and ready to have an amazing cruise.

@JazzyV  Vanessa, I'm glad the hand is better, and I hope it keeps improving.  Glad yo got the computer updated.  I always say that computers are great -- when they work.  🤣   I hope the Benadryl helps again this week.  Enjoy you dinner with your BFF, and not having to cook tonight will be an added benefit.

@Sharon in AZ  Sharon, we have done TA''s in both directions, and each has it's advantages and disadvantages..  Going west to east, you will lose five to six hours over the course of the cruise, but you will arrive rested and not jet lagged.  Coming back,  east to west, you will gain the hours back and arrive home rested from the cruise.  I know I didn't exactly answer the question as to winch is better, but that's up to the individual.

Good morning and thanks all!   Warmed my heart to see Little Shadow with a toy!  Glad she is responding to you!  Love that she is the daily’s dog!

Welcome @RedneckBob !
welcome back @dfish hope you remain negative,  impressed with all your posts while jet lagged,  it usually takes me a while, lol!

Sakaiminato was a last minute substitution port for us,  it allowed us to visit the black Matsue Castle.  And enjoy a small boat ride, then visit one of the top gardens and museums  and the amazing sculptures in the small town of Sakaiminato.

This is first time I am posting on this thread. Interesting thread, good info but I must say I never heard of National grab some nuts day. I promise not to go there 😀.  My DW always says I like peanuts until I discovered cashews. I think that statement has a deeper meaning.

Welcome to the Daily!!
