Wine policy is still same as it's been for years One bottle pp no corkage if enjoyed in cabin or glass brought elsewhere, and as many more as you like charged corkage . Spelled out very clearly at the website.

1965 Posted January 22, 2023 #8 Share Posted January 22, 2023 My sisters will cruise with us in Feb. One of them wants to bring on a bottle of wine. We have zero wine experience. Should she pack it in her carryon? Have it out to show someone? What is the procedure? Any info appreciated.

There may (or may not) be an “alcohol check” table to stop at. If she wants more than one bottle, you can each carry one on.

Wine will need to be on carry-on, and its really no trouble. Once you go through security there is a table for you to stop at. You show them the wine, one - bottle - no problem. 2 or more they will write a charge slip up for the total corkage fee and it will be billed to your shipboard account. It would be kind of you to ask your sister if she would like you to carry on a bottle for her too, that would give her two bottles of one with no corkage fee. The bottles that have the paid corkage fee will get a stamp on the neck of the bottle. This will inform the restaurant waiters to not charge a corkage fee for that bottle if she chooses to bring it in to the dining room with her. Us (personally) have brought on a case of wine. Hubby claims a bottle, I claim a bottle and we pay a corkage fee for 10. Now, you wouldn't want to bring the 'free' bottle into the dining room as then you would pay a corkage fee. Make sure you bring the neck stamped bottle. Note: Box wines and wines large than 750ml are not allowed. When you are in you stateroom ask your room steward for wine glasses. Also bring your own cork screw in carry-on too. Since we bring on both red and white, we also order ice from room service (free) to hold our bottles of wine we want chilled. Its a fantastic perk to have.

Yes, of course they check and know what you're bringing back as everything is scanned when coming back from being ashore. We asked the our restaurant manager if we can bring our glasses to dinner, and he said yes, of course.

Bottles brought on without charge are for consumption in your cabin. If you carry the bottle to the DR you are supposed to be charge the $20 corkage. You are also supposed to be charged if you bring the bottle to any public are, example a lounge. What many people do is pout the wine into the glass and then carry the glass to the DR. 5
