What about CARP in Canada?

We won't get it with CARP, but it appears we can join AARP even though we are Canadian (it asks for country to sign up and I have read on other boards Canadians are members)

I have tried in the past to purchase the gift cards with AARP (no membership required) but it blocks me requiring a US phone number.

That wouldn’t stop me😊.  You can get a google number.  I have an account, no number was required

Thanks, I just registered.  We will see what happens when it becomes available.

I just did this and got verified (received an email stating this also).  It stated "wait at least 2 days to book to receive credit".  So I am thinking it won't be applicable to already booked cruises.  I will email my PCC to find out.

Just called. Not good on previous bookings or casino bookings. I called back, same story. I was told yu have to preregister and get approved, but new bookings only.  Get preapproved in the area with military and teacher preapproved OBC. If anyone has success, can you please let us know? The article made no mention of previous bookings or casino not included.

First thing you have to do is to send Holland America a copy of your AARP card and have it attached to your Mariner Account.

Actually you don't.  When you click on the link on HAL's site,  click on Verify Your AARP Membership, then fill out the few things they ask for and click to submit it.  It immediately said it was confirmed and sent us each an email confirming it as well.  The person I talked to at HAL said to give it 4-5 days for it all to migrate into our Mariner accounts and then call back and have them applied to all our existing bookings.  So we'll see.

You are correct, and you have to attach a copy of your AARP card.

It did not ask me to attach a copy of the card - it just said I was verified.  My card expires in November, and the HAL site says you have to get verified every year, so I'll do it again after I get my new card.  It would have been nice to get the OBC applied to the 5 cruises I already have booked, but I understand it's a marketing tool to get people to book cruises.
