First  time in a proper Crown Lounge. So glad we didn’t get the dreaded Diamonds not allowed letter.

I saw your letter still refers to it as the Diamond Lounge.  Guess that means they probably have not changed the sign yet.

It looks like some are not adhering to the smart casual dress recommendation in the letter.   Maybe someone should start a thread “Are shorts and tees allowed on the Crown?”😂😂

In the room at 1:00.  Bags were waiting outside the door when we got there.  Everything unpacked…bed made.  These things have been back savers for my wife and I when sleeping on the notoriously hard RC beds.

I forgot to look if they changed the sign but I think it is still referred to as the Diamond lounge.

Just like I remember it. Is the outside seating area available to use?

There was a sign outside the Blue Moon that said @private function”. I assume it was over flow seating for the Diamond lounge.

Note: no picture of my official sail away Kraken Colada because the Sky Bar ran out of Colada mix. How in the heck does that happen? Ended up with a Kraken Mango which was good but sorry no picture. I’ll try again tomorrow on our sea day.

I meant the outdoor deck area at the opposite end from where you enter the DL.

We try to drink 2 or 3 bottles of water per day…we don’t do the drinks package anymore since turning D+.  These are the biggest ones I can remember getting…IIRC it’s always been 20oz bottles before.

Sorry OB I don’t know the answer to that question as we are still new to the whole Diamond thing. I’ll pay closer attention tomorrow when we go.

Kraken Mango sounds good! I make a Kraken Orange, Mango, and Cranberry juice combo drink.

BOGO dinner at Giovanni’s tonight.

We each got the filet.  She got Gnocchi Gorgonzola and liked it.  I got the mushroom risotto which has always been one of my fave RC dishes.  Lemon sorbet for dessert was really nice.

Do they usually put all that sauce over the filet? How can you taste the filet?

Night One in the MDR

Ok a little rant here. I don’t understand why you talk to a manager to have nightly reservations with the same table and wait staff with concerns about standing in line with bad knees and wanting a table not out in open because I am hard of hearing and told no problem to then have to wait in line, sat in a very noisy section and a wait staff that seemed discombobulated. After dinner we talk with the dining room manager to see if they can correct it.

I honestly can’t say if I just missed it on the menu…I’m 100% on the “a good steak doesn’t need sauce” train ..just some salt.  So I did some scraping.  It was a good filet…maybe just a hair on the well side of medium (ordered medium), but not enough to worry about.  Wife’s was done even more…she sent it back and it was perfect for her the second time around.

MDR Part Deux

IMG_2670.thumb.jpeg.88ec6ab7116631ff53c5276d8013bbb7.jpeg

So after my starter crab cake came out a hour later I got my other appetizer that ordered escargot. It promptly came after I finished the crab cake which was good. Nice addition was a soft bread stick for dipping in that wonderful garlic butter.

Prime rib was just ok. Warm not hot. No offer to get new drinks as I drank all of my cocktail and Linda finished her wine. It’s seems like they are disorganized and under staffed.

Maybe it’s a bad omen when your waiter and assistant waiter have the same name, #N/A???

I was thinking it looked like a lot of sauce too.   I don't remember our Giovanni filets last month having any sauce on it but had a side cup with sauce/gravy that was really good.

What’s funny is that it didn’t even really hit me until the first bite…then I was like “wait a minute” 🤣🤣
