Surely someone here is old enough to have been on the Monterey, Melody, or Achille Lauro? 😅

Melody lol.  😜 Gone before we ever started on MSC.  (Can Melody even be called a ship?!! 🤣🤣).

Melody, 2002, out of Fort Lauderdale.  MSC was "more different" from other cruiselines than it is now. There was a learning curve for getting the most out of the experience, but in the end, a fine cruise. Great cabin, fabulous music and dancing and activities.

In talking with the Captain on Seaside in 2020, we learned that he was an officer on Melody while we were aboard.

We also did Melody about 20 years ago and Seaside about 5 and I had a couple of very nice conversations with the captain about the Melody we had inquired about a excellent piano player who was super talented and was told he is still working on MSC ships , we are booked again this December in yacht club on seaside.

Orchestra
Armonia

Poesia

Splendida

Preziosa (my favorite ship)

Meraviglia

Armonia again

Virtuosa
Seaview

Virtuosa again

Musica (finally as Diamond)

This year I hoped for the World Europa, but routing and pricing set us for a third round on Armonia 🙂

3 ,all from Miami

Armonia was awful

Divina was so so

Magnifica the best

We did Armonia (down to Cuba);  it was one of our stand-out cruises.  (Another was on one of our Magnifica sailings in the Med).

It’s the way of cruising - you can have an amazing time on the same ship (or even cruise) that others have a nightmare on.

I've sailed on World Europa, Bellissima, Virtuosa, Divina, Seaside, and Grandiosa. We have a cruise booked to the Norwegian Fjords on Euribia.

How about you?

Divina, Armonia, Seaside, Meraviglia, Seashore, more than once on all but Seashore, (Grandiosa booked but cancelled COVID time), next booking Seashore.

9 ships  so far..... 15 cruises .

First one Splendida 2017, last one Euribia last week with Magnifica,  Preziosa, Seaview , Meraviglia, Bellissima,  Grandiosa and Virtuosa in-between, not necessarily in that order 😆

We enjoyed every single one of them .

So funny to think that MSC is regarded as ‘the new kid on the bloc’ in terms of US sailings.

There are only two acceptable answers: "Not enough of them" and "All of them." 😉

The older ships without Yacht Club are not at all interesting for us.

We have cruised on Meraviglia, Divina and World Europa. Our next ship will be Seaside.

Well the Monterey cruise was in 1994, then it was 10 years before we started cruising again.  We try to do at least two a year preferring the long itineraries and repositioning cruises.

We really just started cruising again post Covid and have been NCL loyal, now Platinum….matched to MSC Gold.

We dabbled last year with a 4-day on Seaside.  Loved the ship experience (although the casino is small).

We just did another shortie on Seashore.  Also enjoyed it immensely.

We have World Europa booked for November…which seems too far away.

On the verge of convincing DH we need a 7-day on Seashore in late summer.

Tally:

Seaside ✔️

Seashore✔️

World Europa…just waiting (impatiently)

Seashore 🤞

None 😶

But I'm booked in May on the Seashore and next March on the Preziosa, trying to get the full MSC experience.  I'm here to soak in all of your wisdom and good sailing vibes. 💜
