Good morning Daily-ites from a warm morning of 69 heading to 83.

@LambKnuckles we live in Georgetown. I hope you enjoyed the beautiful park outing yesterday.

Hoping all goes well for our friends here post surgeries. Prayers lifted for each of you. I have added 2 more people to my prayer book, one in ICU with heart failure and another with a 2nd stroke.

News flash! Allen's Dupixent arrived. Very thankful for our insurance as 2 shots are $4,910. It's administered every 2 weeks.

Pedicures today with lunch after. I don't think salmon cakes are in our future..

@Nickelpenny love the top 12 states!

Have a blessed day.

It's great to know other Texas cruisers!

And Garey Park is a great park!

I have had a horrible day.  Last Thursday I made a call to the Doctor to ask for some help since DH was having anxiety issues about going on the trip.  i also sent a message through the portal.  There was no response.  I again made another call and no response.

Then last evening at 5:40 there was a call from the pharmacy to pick up some meds.  I didn’t know if it was for DH or me.  Well it was anti-anxiety meds for him.  No phone call, nada.  Too little too late.

I am livid.  If the response had been timely, we might be on our way to Rome.  Instead i am just so angry at the way things turned out and not let DH feel he is to blame.

I have cancelled everything and maybe I jumped the gun by doing it so quickly.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Terri

As @Quartzsite Cruiser Lenda said, you made the best decision with the information you had at the time.  Even if the doctor had called back and discussed the anti-anxiety meds with you, it is probably better that you not go so far away as you don't know how Jim will react to the meds. Will they help him?  Will he have any side effects?   I know it is hard, but like you decided at the time, it is for the best.

@Haljo1935 So how do you get the anti theft to turn off?  I looked up the incident at your local high school.  One injured, one in custody.  So senseless.

🌺Aloha LambKnuckles,

I hope maybe you can meet @Seasick SailorJoy and her husband Allen. She is my only CC DAILYITES sister whom I have a very special bond with! She is such a breath of fresh air and loves life and would do anything to help someone in need! She adds a spark to our daily. Have a wonderful day.

Terri, you did what was best for you at the time with the information you had at the time.  I know you said that Jim liked his doctor, but maybe it's time for a new doctor.

I am not sure if it is the doctor or the staff member who relayed the message.  I just know that this medicine is highly addictive and we have gotten no guidance on how to take it.  I am not happy.  I am going to try to get to the doctors office tomorrow and see if i can see him. There is only one other Neurologist in the area and most of his patients want to move to the one that Jim has.  Not moving to another yet.

Thanks for your support.

🌺AlohaTerri,

First and foremost I am so sorry for all of this going on for you and DH! I would be one at this point to do exactly what you plan on doing. I would be at that office first thing and demand to see the Dr. in regards to a RX with no knowledge of how to take the meds ! As a retired DDS not a Neurologist I would have RX instructions related to my dental team whom would call in RX and relay back info that it was called in and that evening would call my patients whom I saw, that have extensive work or whom called in for a RX to go over instructions.

I am just shacking my head. Virtual hugs go out to you tonight!

🌺Mahalo,

Denise🙂

PS I hope I did not step out of line

Oh Denise! Thank you so much for the sweet post! I keep thinking of you and David and missing our Maui time. Are you going to your CA home at Mother's Day? Did you finish your painting you were so inspired by? Hugs my dearest sister and a peck on the cheek for David.

We’re still here enjoying the time! Will be coming home after Mother’s Day. I have been painting a lot! Sent a pic from just my canvas not yet matted yesterday of watercolors to celebrate birthdays here on the Daily and then my other oil painting is included for you!

Have a great evening Joy kiss Allen for me!

I'm sorry to hear you have had to cancel your forthcoming cruises due to health issues.

Best wishes.

Graham.

Thank you. The Japan TP was especially disappointing since we've never been there and included an AK port we've not visited.

Finally the conditions were right to spray the weed killer, even though the timing was less than ideal.  When we went for our after dinner golf cart ride, we noticed there was only a light breeze, so even though it was after dinner, and I was very tired, the weeds were sprayed.  I mixed more than I needed, so there is enough for a second application.  It will be windy tomorrow with rain tomorrow night.  Luckily, the only thing pressing tomorrow is a trip to W-M to pickup a few prescriptions.

Terri, I hope you can see the doctor tomorrow, and find out about the medicine and how to take it.  Small town living is nice until you need a specialist.  We are fortunate to have access to specialists not too far away.  HUGS!

I don't know how to get it to turn off or what triggered it to turn on - it's parked in the garage.

I sent the picture to the Mechanic hoping it will be a quick fix for him.

Yes, senseless - relieved to hear no one died.

@Cruzin TerriI have to chime in here and agree with those who feel that it was best to not travel with DH taking a new and untried medication. When I used to take groups abroad I had several times when some of the elders involved became ill while traveling (one wound up in hospital) and it was generally a reaction to a newly prescribed medication. You did the right thing with the cancellations even though I know it was hard for you. However, you should certainly get full information about the medication and then, after seeing how DH reacts to it... perhaps think of a somewhat less stressful travel option as a trial run.

Hugs and know you did the right thing at the time and even now, waiting a bit is best.

Its now very late in the day.  Dh's appointment was at 10:20, and we didnt get out until 2:40.And then because this is now traffic time (buses and schools let out) it took more than an hour to get home, (we swallowed down some mickey D food, and bought more litter for Munchkin,) and was working by 4.

Good news on the cancer, it has been stopped growing and might be receding a little-BUT the stent in his leg is showing some aggressive need of being replaced-SOON!  @Cruzin Terri you should ask the doc about addictiveness, but is it the addictive that can be lived with if you monitor  the meds?  will it improve Jim's way of feeling and being?  Is this a lifetime thing, most drugs lose their ability to perform after a while.

Speaking of drugs, DH's wrists and hands have started hurting-turns out it is a side affect from his immunotherapy drug.  And his pain drugs are getting out of control, so the oncologist is sending him to pain therapy.  We will then discuss a nerve block.  The ointments for mouth pain are being over used, and right now he is doing more damage with multiple applications.  It's and endless cycle.

@Haljo1935I hope you dont think my laugh post was out of line, it's just that you and I kind of think alike.  Crap day, but the sky is blue and you see the joy in the simpler things.  My whole day was meeting others demands, and that's how I felt when I saw your blue sky with the helicopter (addressing a tragedy) just joy at the sky.  So thank you.

@DeeniEncinitas I love your paintings!  I really need to get back into painting.  I give most of them away, but have 20 sitting in the back unused bedroom aka the library.

Years ago after I lost a job, I prayed for God to tell me what to do.  I got the answer, paint. And I did. For two years.  And then....after a cat left green foot prints all over the living room floor, I gave it up.

Hugs to all, I know I missed a lot today here, but you are all always in my thoughts.

Late check in…

DH’s doctor said it’s all good. Got new instructions for medications, 3 types, one 4x, one 2x, one 1x a day.   Plus eye massages 10 sec on 10 sec off 2 mins 2x a day. Patch taped on at night, glasses to protect during day. No bending over, 10 lb lifting limit. Patch sealed for showers.  We can do this!!  His vision was good, eye looks a mess but it’s working!

Elated to see friends!!

Terri, please be kind to yourself.  Breathe. See what tomorrow brings. If the meds help, great!  Baby steps. Enjoy Jim being with you. Love if your Life! That is more important than travel right now. Hugs and more hugs!

And Elizabeth, sad about the cruises, and the reasons you canceled. So for the car, try Google and You Tube. Horrible about the school. We’ve gotten numb, but it’s just horrible.

I’m sure I missed things tonight but I’m hitting lights out. Tomorrow will be a long slog. I’m ELATED today was excellent!  Good night all.

@marshhawk Absolutely not out of line - didn't cross my mind you meant anything unkind or insensitive. Hey, we have to find our joy and wins where/when we can. 🤗 That beautiful blue sky might as well have been a rainbow.

An update on the school shooting - Sadly, the news tonight reported a young man did die - 18 years old. 2nd son his mother has lost to gun fire. Heartbreaking. Prayers for her, the family and the school community.

Annie, that is good news the cancer has stopped growing, and may be receding.  I really hope that is the case.  I’m sorry the the stent in Chuck's leg will need replacing soon.  I hope the  pain therapy will help.

Elizabeth, thanks for the update on the school shooting.  It's sad someone died.  My heart goes out to his mother. No mother should lose a child, and to lose two to gun fire is horrible.
