Browse a topic first to see if your question has already been asked or answered by someone else. The specific Cruise Critic Roll Call thread for your ship, line, and sail date is the ONLY place on the Cruise Critic message boards where you and your fellow Roll Call thread members are allowed to post personal ads about sharing private tours, excursions or transportation with each other to save money. There is a "captive audience" there since you are all sailing together! Your fellow Roll Call thread members may have important information posted in your Roll Call thread. Especially those that may have sailed your line, ship or itinerary before. Also, they may have already posted share requests that may interest you. Roll Calls are for Cruise Critic members on the same cruise. They get to know one another before their cruise so there will be all kinds of discussion in the Roll Call thread for their cruise!

 

Once you locate the Roll Call thread for your specific line, ship and sail date if one is already created, first read through the whole thread to get to know the other Cruise Critic members sailing with you. Then use the dark blue Reply to this topic button to join the Roll Call by posting an introductory post about yourself on the Roll Call thread. When done with your message, click the dark blue Submit Reply button. 

 

If you want to address a particular post already in the thread, be sure to use the Quote feature on that post as I did yours above. That way all will be aware of what your post concerns. You type your message UNDER the light blue quote box then click the dark blue Submit Reply button. If the member you quoted has used the Follow feature on the thread, they will get a notification that you have replied to their post.

 

If a Roll Call thread for your specific line, ship & sail date has NOT been created, please feel free to create it! Just follow the directions in How To: Create A New Roll Call. Please make sure you use the complete alpha date format for the sail date in the Roll Call thread title. Example: January 01, 2024  Then sit back and wait for your fellow Cruise Critic members sailing with you to join in by posting on the thread. They will appreciate you starting the Roll Call! And don't worry about any responsibilities in starting a Roll Call thread. Roll Calls belong to everyone; there is no designated leader or owner. It does not matter who started the thread.

 

If you ever need technical help in regard to using the Cruise Critic message board software, go to the Need Help Using the Forums? Check Here! forum. You will see a large amount of "How to..." pinned threads toward the top of the forum's first page. Also, browse through the threads in the forum looking for threads of interest. Again, you may find your fellow Cruise Critic members have already posted questions and received answers that may be of interest to you.

Similar to what we pay at home for dry cleaning.  We never send out pj’s, undergarments, swimsuits, t-shirts, or suits to be washed😲.  Really who washes a suit?

There is often a mid week ‘fill a bag’ offer for wash and fold items (socks, undies, T-shirts…). Ask your room attendant on boarding if this is available on your cruise.

 

There are discounts/free bags at certain loyalty levels so if you have any loyalty (or transferred loyalty from RC) check the list.

 

If you are in a higher level suite laundry is complementary. I believe free laundry or a free laundry bag may be part of some casino level perks (looking at your CC name) but as a none gambler I can’t advise about this. 

 

The wash and fold is similar to a ‘mixed wash’ at home…do not put in delicate items. We have found the dry cleaning and pressing to be of a good standard.

Does Celebrity offer any type of 'Press Only' discount upon boarding?  Royal has a 10-piece press only for $17.50 on transatlantic cruises.  Will be on our first Celebrity TA this fall!!

Never had a problem sending out socks, underwear, and t-shirts for the wash and fold.  Be careful with the dry fit  athletic shirts.

 

On some cruises, there has been a $29 mid-cruise  wash and fold special.  Be on the lookout for this offer in the Celebrity Today paper.

You can also pre-purchase laundry bag in cruise planner.  Watch for the flash sale with a discount.

For our current 13-Day Best of Japan cruise I purchased the dry cleaning package for me and my DW.  We have not used both of them along with one of our bags of regular Wash & Fold elite laundry.  I hav to say that the dry cleaning was well worth the cost, even though we did not put 12 items in either time.  

 

My plan is to purchase the dry cleaning package again for our upcoming 17-day cruise next April.   We’ll be elite plus so wash and fold is taken care of already.

If it's available, they'll leave a slip with the special in your stateroom.  X offers free pressing for a few items for those with status so many X regulars don't pay attention to pressing specials

If you are at the Select or above level in the Captains Club you get 2 items pressed at no charge.  Elite get 2 items, plus 1 bag wash & fold laundry and 1 item dry cleaned.

Is there a way to have things pressed for a charge even if you don’t have CC status?  We are new cruisers and I’ve been wondering how to pack my dresses so they won’t wrinkle.  I don’t think it’s possible.

The laundry slip has per item costs listed for laundry, dry cleaning and pressing.

 

A number of folks have posted that the Downy Wrinkle Release works well.  Also folks will pack items which are prone to wrinkle in the light weight plastic bags that a dry cleaners return clothes in.  In our case we revive unlimited laundry as a Captain's Club loyalty perk, but I still pack easy to care clothing.
