zitsky Posted July 12 #1 Share Posted July 12 I’m not sure this question has an answer. Is there any way to know in advance what lectures there might be on a specific cruise? I can’t think of any except perhaps checking every old roll call. Do certain routes have particular topics or speakers? We enjoyed the talks on the Eclipse and Beyond. Rare 1025cruise Posted July 12 #2 Share Posted July 12 Unless the cruise has a ton of sea days, there probably won't be any specific lectures outside the "go to the shops we tell you" talk and "do the excursions we tell you" talk.

Even if you check the sailing immediately before yours right before you board, there is no way to know if those same speakers will stay on Edited July 12 by WestLakeGirl

How long is your cruise, how many sea days?
keysey222 Posted July 12 #5 Share Posted July 12 I believe there were only 2 when we did this cruise. One was about elephants and I can't recall what the other was.
Orator Posted July 12 #6 Share Posted July 12 (edited) Check the roll call for your cruise as sometimes the lectures post. At one time Celebrity posted the names of the lectures, but that ended a long time ago. Edited July 12 by Orator
Rare markeb Posted July 12 #7 Share Posted July 12 There’s probably one on how to style ripped jeans with the accessories onboard. Maybe one on the benefits of indoor cap wear. And finally an extensive lecture on how to properly wear an untucked shirt and properly accessorize it. They heard you were coming… 😀

Celebrity asked me to teach the new scotch class where you learn how to put the ice in first, before you pour the scotch.

Alaska will have a nature/wildlife specialist. Otherwise, I wouldn't expect much. With that said, I've not done a cruise to Bali so I can't say whether or not there will be enrichment or not. 39august Posted July 12 #11 Share Posted July 12 I've not been on a cruise to Bali, but I have never been on a Celebrity cruise that did NOT have a series of lectures. On a recent cruise it was a series on how innocent people may end up in prison. Very, very interesting. If you are every arrested for something you did NOT do...don't talk without a lawyer. That " right to remain silent" is very much for innocents' protection.

Rare keesar Posted July 12 #16 Share Posted July 12 Don't expect a guest lecturer. They have been few and far between. No way of telling. With one captain, you will hear about the favorite watch and jewelry shops on the ship. The captain be there personally to assist. Now isn't that nice....

owensjro Posted July 13 #21 Share Posted July 13 We had 3 lecturers on our recent Japan cruise on the Millie which only had 3 sea days. I don't have the exact info but I believe there was a total of around 10 lectures given. Some were done on days when the port time was in the afternoon.
