Michael Sympouras just took over from Captain Manetas. Captain Alevropoulis was to move to Eclipse on the new rotation in May/June but was suddenly reassigned to Miami (port Captain ?). Captain Leo will now move to Eclipse even though in November, when he unexpectedly replaced captain Panos, he stated that Equinox was now "his" ship. Changes are now faster than I have ever seen.

 

Was Captain Leo on Summit a couple of years ago?

Celebrity seems to have a policy (not sure if this is new or not) of not letting crew members identify with one particular ship. I've come to this conclusion after some discussion with favorite crew members that we've gotten close to.

Personally I think not fostering a sense of ownership and pride of their crew in a specific ship is a mistake.

People work harder and are happier when they feel connected to what they're doing.

I agree with you. Oftentimes the staff feels a connection to a ship and when they keep moving them around that sense of pride doesn't always travel with them. If a staff member has an issue with a particular ship because of for example not getting along with coworkers- they should be moved asap. But if the staff member truly enjoys the ship- they should stay. It is also nice for repeat guests to see the same staff members on the ship of their choice.

Captain DIMITRIOS KAFETZIS is in countdown mode to his vacation.

 

Do you know when this vacation starts? We will be on the Silhouette in June and would love a repeat cruise with Captain Dimitrios.

 

We are disembarking Silhouette tomorrow. The captain leaves for three months after the next voyage. I doubt that he will be back on Silhouette. I'm guessing he will be moving to the edge project.

Thanks for the fast response.

I hope that you had a good and healthy cruise. We were recently (March) on the Infinity and the Star Princess and both were having issues that needed them to be sanitized.

A Celebrity first? An Italian Master? Captain Vito, a new promotion.

 

Captain Panos sadly is no longer with Celebrity.

 

For some reason my upgrade to MS 10 did not include MS Paint and I can't format my chart.

 

Silhouette:

Mark Tomley is the new F&B Manager,

Rossy is the new Captain's Club Host

 

Captain DIMITRIOS KAFETZIS is in countdown mode to his vacation.

 

E Alevropoulos is not going to Eclipse as announced in February but moving to Miami.

Captain Leo who told us in November that Equinox is his ship now, is moving to Eclipse to take E Alevropoulos posting.

 

Thanks Arno, sadly is the right word for the loss of Captain Panos.

I wish they would make that piano bar AND Jordan Peterson a permanent feature on the Eclipse!

I thought Jordan is working on and would like to become a headline act as opposed to staying on a ship for months at a time.

I recall Petesfamily posting somthing to that effect, recently. Of course, Jordan is amazing in a piano bar setting. I always enjoyed watching him play a "real" piano, as opposed to a portable keyboard. Wherever he's playing, I just hope to get a chance to see Jordan on another Celebrity ship! :)

I also enjoy him playing piano. I think we saw him on 2 or 3 of our Summit sailings.

 

We did not enjoy the the piano player they had on our September Summit cruise. Not as good as Jordan.

Here's a sample of what a Jordan headline act might look like. From his last gig on Summit, where he was sometimes featured in the first night's theater production. Jordan at the baby grand, with orchestra back-up, performing Cee Lo Green's "Forget You". (Not the best recording quality, but still worth a look.)
