getting refundable OBC back

It should be credited back on the last morning of the cruise. Last year, when our refundable OBC was not credited, I called Guest Relations at 1-844-418-6824 and they corrected it immediately. The guest relations agent sent me an email several days later to confirm that the refund was posted to my credit card account.

Thanks everyone. I disembarked Sunday so if no credit by Friday morning I will call. I appreciate the contact info.

Just wondering how long after a cruise ends until unused refundable OBC ( from my TA) will be credited back to my credit card that was linked to my sea pass account? Guest Relations said it would happen the morning I disembark but that did not occur.

Thanks

A couple of days.

Thanks to Queenglasshalffull I called the number provided. They looked up my info, saw I had the money coming but that it had not been posted and then checked with another department. Turns out there was a glitch in the submissions from the ship for this sailing but that accounting now has the info and I should see the credit by MondY.

Thanks everyone. I will report back after that.

Don't expect this kind of rapid response should you go on NCL. Our last NCL refundable OBC refund, which is sent via cheque to one's home address and not refunded to one's credit card, took 12 weeks after the end of our cruise to arrive including 2 weeks in the post.

What is left over OBC, how do I get it.

Oh,,,,

I need to leave Mrs Gut at home.

OBC = On Board Credit

This thread is discussing Refundable On-Board Credit

If not fully used it is automatically refunded to your Credit Card.

Can you provide specifics as to what constitutes refundable vs. non refundable OBC? I presume that Celebrity OBC is non refundable, and your travel agent's OBC IS refundable?

Our upcoming Panama Canal has significant OBC from Celebrity and our TA - how do you SPEND non refundable and keep the refundable?

Thanks for any assistance as the majority of our cruises have been on Royal and we have never had a problem....

If it comes from Celebrity as a perk or promo, it's non refundable. Shown on your TV account review as OBN. The TA OBC is OBR and goes back to your credit card if not spent.

You can spend the OBN on any on board charge including gratuities if not prepaid. I took $200 OBN in casino promo chips that can't be cashed in, used my & DW's Captain's Club $5 match coupons to turn that into $155 real cash in winning chips that could be cashed in. I played Roulette.

Other's use OBN on shopping or liquor. I figured I was ahead of the game because of the inflated store and liquor prices compared to St. Maarten liquor stores. And it became real money. The choice is yours.

I used to shop at Friendly's but on my last visit they not only raised prices but were not as consumer friendly as my previous purchases. I used to get free 1/2 pint bottles based upon my large purchase of 13 expensive bottles. Last cruise they did nothing. Plus they started playing a stupid game based upon credit card usage. I was offended by their attitude.

I'm going to be in St Maartin in December and again in January. I plan to compare the liquor store on the pier where the water taxi comes in at the center of the beach. I have to find a new favorite liquor store. I don't plan on buying at Friendly's after the way they treated me last time.

You can also ask the Cashier and she will print out a copy of your account and will show you which ones and amount are refundable and those that are not.

They charge ALL expenses (tips, drinks, laundry, Specialty Dining, Shore Excursions, etc) to the Non-Refundable first until used up and then start applying against your refundable credit.

Be aware that not all OBC from at TA is refundable. If the OBC comes to the TA as a perk from the cruise line and they pass it on to you it remains as non-refundable (many group booking OBC's fall into this category). If it comes from their commission or other means it is usually refundable !
