I am new to Celebrity. Tell me what I am going to love about Celebrity cruise line and especially Celebrity Equinox.

I've read a couple of reviews, but what I want to more or less hear about are specifics of what you all love about cruising on Celebrity and for those who have sailed on the Equinox itself, tell me what you love about that ship.

Thanks

The Ships- We feel they are nicer, cleaner, better setup than other lines.

The Crew - Maybe it's because we have cruised Celebrity so much, we think they are the nicest crews at sea. We also are acquainted with many of the staff.

The lack of smoking.

The Equinox was the first Celebrity ship we sailed on. We knew very little about the ship or Celebrity. What we liked the best was not knowing what to expect and being surprised and pleased by so many things throughout the cruise.

We are taking our 14th Cekebrity cruise next month. I would hate to spoil the fun by telling what to expect.

I'll spoil it for you! [emoji12]. The Sunset Bar. Outside dining area in the Buffet. Tree suspended in the atrium. Island concept for food layout in the buffet. Eggs Benedict station in the buffet. Ice cream made on board. Corning Museum of Glass glass blowing shows. Beach/pool towels provided without signing for them. Solid shower door as opposed to clingy curtain. Hamburgers and fries at the Mast Grille.

The lovely people we meet.

Coming back from a port on a hot day and finding cold drinks waiting...and hot drinks on cold days.

The lack of intrusive announcements,

The lack of worry about smoking on an adjacent balcony or in the casino.

The martini bar.

Cafe al Bacio.

The staff.

Lots more but those were the first I thought of. We have sailed Carnival, HAL, Princess, and for us, there is no contest

Recently sailed the equinox and loved it overall. Two of my fav areas are the solarium pool area, and the buffet - the layout of stations and food on offer is great.

The waffles, bread pudding, icy towels (or chicken soup) when returning to the ship, did I say the waffles?

Love the food and drinks variety. Much better wine by the glass selection than any other line I've been on. Love the hot glass show. Like not having to check towels out. Love the wine and cheese party on the lawn. Some cruises also have lawn games like boccee. Have a great time!

Recently we cruised with Royal C. Reminded us what we love about Celebrity! Few children, smoke free casino, cold towels when returning to the ship and lounging by the pool on hot days. Cool drink when returning to ship on hot days. Better specialty restaurants, waffles, non carnival atmosphere, wait staff that can be easily found when you want a drink anywhere! Super amazing service. (Recently on the Connie the concierge offered me the use of her personal hair dryer when I made a suggestion that the shipboard dryers that required the guest to hold in the button for air flow was tiring to guests with long hair).

Oh my goodness, this is awesome. Thanks for sharing all your positives. Oh and thanks for the tip on the aft bar drinks. You just go there and they give you a drink for free? Crazy! but good :)

I wish Cruise critic had a "like" button, so you could acknowledge all replies.

Keep the reviews coming!

We're going to sail on Equinox in November, for the 4th time.

It's not a gaudy, glitzy ship. I like that. It's relaxed and elegant and spacious.

No smoking inside at all. Very little outside and easy to avoid those places.

No announcements during the day except one "where we're at" announcement by the caption at 10 a.m.

Great food, great service. Even the room stewards you pass in the hall greet you with a smile.

Staff isn't around every corner urging you to joint this or do that. Celebrity assumes we're adults and can read the daily placed on our bed in the evening and make our own plans without reminder announcements on the PA system all during the day.

No having to sign for beach or pool towels. Honor system.

No amusement park stuff.

Enough to do if you need/want to be busy doing something all the time. Even more places to sit and relax if you don't need to have constant activity.

Great loyalty perks and fabulous suite life with own restaurant and lounge <---that's what keeps us coming back.

You might check deck plans for deck 13. It can be hard to find.

OK you're new to Celebrity so I'll tell you another secret.

There *is* no deck 13. Sometimes we joke around here on this site.

Thanks Claudia and shame on you Oxfancruiser for trying to fool a newbie!

So there is no smoking in the casino? My husband is allergic to smoke so that is great!

Sailed many times on Celebrity, tried NCL and RCCL but always gravitate back to Celebrity. 4 years ago had to disembark early due to medical issue and Celebrity bent over backwards in accommodating our needs; arranging taxi to meet us at the gangway, free phone calls to re-arrange transportation to get back home to Canada from Italy, and even had two staff people escort us from our stateroom with bags to the taxi.

Last year while on a European cruise, friends we were traveling with received news their son was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident. Their son broke his leg but otherwise was ok; however, Celebrity allowed our friends unlimited phone calls to their home at no charge for the remainder of the cruise.

For these reasons and in addition to the reasons of the above posts, Celebrity has our loyalty.
