  1. What is your point? The webinar was professional, informative and 100% better that when Celebrity started doing them. Gives a few points towards the next loyalty level encourages watching. As one who has worked and had extended time in Alaska and the Yukon; this webinar was quite enjoyable.
  2. The idea of self serve alcohol is interesting. Illegal in all 50 states unless at a private function or where underage persons are excluded. You can blame the parents, but maybe look back when you were 20 or 17 or?
  3. Think you misunderstood that this is an old thread. Testing rules have changed on most cruises. Cruises over 9 days mostly require only that you test yourself then take a picture of the test strip. Pretty much the honor system.
  4. Just no rips or tears sort of stuff. Reality is nobody cares much beyond shorts and t-shirts. DW and I wear sandals every night. Socks on chic nights.
  5. One more time - Celebrity will accept the results of ANY of the proctoring companies including OnPoint and Rapidtestandtrace.com (there are a few dozen more) using ANY covid test approved by ANY government.
  6. Agree. The 8-10 cabins held for maintenance would not be released. There always will be people that miss a cruise due to airline issues and weather along with all sorts of personal situations.
  7. Yes it can be upgraded. Unless things changed only for the remainder of your cruise. It is slightly cheaper precruise. Details are on the website.
  8. A valid and very real concern. Iceland went from over 75 testing sites in February to two by July. The proctored tests can be done from anywhere- even on an ✈️.
  9. There is a sticky at the top with lots of info. You can use a protoring service like OnPoint or Rapidtestandtrace.com that cost in the $15 area and use ANY government approved test including the free tests sent out in Canada and the US or virtually all tests sold at pharmacies all over the World. We tested from our hotel in Iceland. No waiting in line and inexpensive.
  10. For B2B cruisers Celebrity does cover the cost. For others there are free government tests and others that are about $10 you can buy. Proctoring is about $15. For a cruise that costs thousands of dollars . . .
  11. The expiry date is actually extended. Think now by one year. Easy to store as they are small.
  12. Your post is a bit confusing. Of course anyone can get covid. The vaccine simply has reduced severity of the disease. Won't discuss the rule as not allowed, but will state there were MANY cases reported on board Summit in August with many more ill passengers who did not report. The passengers who were ill and did not quarantine simply spread the virus to others. The rule is what it is. You either comply or don't cruise. Absolutely no difference between testing on a B2B than my flying to Iceland and testing there.
  13. Think most would call that full with the number of staff.
  14. Your Mom can call a USA number for free when connected to Wi-Fi. While on Summit from Iceland to Boston we called simply using the Surf (basic Wi-Fi) on board when near Iceland and again when we were a day out of Newfoundland. Obviously in port she can simply connect to the local phone system and make free outgoing calls, texts and use data on the net. Do remind her that incoming calls when outside North America are not free when using TMobile WI-FI. Strange but not expensive usually 10-20 cents a minute. We simply did not answer then called friends back. We found calling late until very early mornings worked best from the ship. Less usage.
  15. The problem is Starlink and Elon. They have promised far more capacity than capability. Ukraine is using huge capacity. Some areas are better.
  16. Pretty much yes. Given the situation they might reschedule. As said as their resolutions department. A CSRep cannot assist- way above their authority.
  17. And there are some dozens of wines on board not on the winelist. You will actually find out when you get on board what is available.
  18. Agree you are asking what the regulars think was a silly question. OBC from Celebrity varies from program to program as you well know. "Normal" is zero. Special sales are whatever they offer. Programs last anywhere from one day to a couple months then change. Am positive you know that.
  19. Everyone is different. Pretty much all the bar areas are great in the mornings, but I prefer my own cabin.
  20. Yes. The list is on the Celebrity website and is very long and variable due to supply issues
  21. True is the cruise ports in the UK area. Was told not available recently Iceland to Boston via Canada.
  22. You likely would get your laundry back the next day as almost nobody will be having laundry done, but no guarantee unless you pay for next day. Unless in a place with no laundry when ashore likely to be easier to not do while on board except for a bag the day you board.
  23. There are absolutely cabins held back. There are always maintenance issues but the number is small. Also there are cabins for entertainers and others. Today also a few retained to deal with covid when one passenger tests positive and the other negative. If they separate that requires a second cabin. Those cabins will not be released. Period No idea where you are sailing, but still lots of artificial demand by those using FCCs. Combine with Aqua becoming very popular along with Suites and a move up bid for those is getting more and more difficult.
  24. Not likely things changed from when you started a duplicate thread a few hours ago. I asked the hotel manager this exact question last month on Summit. Was told staffing was the main issue. Not only to set up the event, but send out the invitations. If you want a M&G simply set up a place and time on Cruise Critic. Not hard. Better than Princess which provides nothing. You coordinate with them and they provide a time and location. On our last cruise on Celebrity there was a slot pull, bar crawl and other events organized by CC members.
