Casino ID for 19 yr old.

Recommended Posts

My daughter will be 19 on our next cruise & wants to gamble in the casino.

I know she will be asked for ID, especially because she looks 14.

Does she need to carry her drivers license, or is her SeaPass card all she needs? (I don't know if a birthdate is something they see when they swipe SeaPass cards)

Drivers License would be best.

Also note that if she wins a "Cash Payout" anything over $1199, as a US Citizen, she will be expected to show some ID for tax purposes. Not sure if drivers license is enough. Probably. But wife has had to go back to cabin for passport since she no longer carries around her social security card.

18 is the age for the casino....gives the "young adults" something to do, if they have the funds! Her DL is the same size as the room key/seapass....not hard to carry. Once they know she's "of age", she probably won't be asked for ID.

I've never seen an adult who looks like a 14 year old. They may ask for ID, but only because of the fuzzy line that 17 or 18 could be, not 14

You must be sheltered.

I worked at a high school for 25 years. There were always few that still looked they belonged in grammar school.

And there were those that looked like they were over 21.

My 23YO still gets her ID checked every time she goes to the mall -- where you are supposed to be with a parent if you are 14 or under. She is 5'7"

Our 19 year old only had to show his seapass card at the casino to verify his age on Oasis in November of last year. Your seapass card has photo and age when they swipe it. He had his I'd out and was told they didn't need to see it. Not sure about other boats, but was fine all week for him.

The quarter pushing machines take...……………...quarters.

Cash? My Mom still writes Checks for everything, well companies that still take them. Doesn't have a Debit card. Then 2 my kids never use cash, Debit only all the way...

Some of those quarter pushing machines are up to $5 a spin.

I think we're talking about different kinda machines...;) Look for those "pushing/sliding" quarter machines next time you're in the casino.

Reminds me of the time when my daughter was 19. I gave her $20 to play on the slots. Came back five minutes asking for more cash. She had a job at the time and had brought her own spending money but spending my money seemed like a better idea than spending her own.
