How do you carry your sign and sail card?

When I go to professional conferences we usually get a little zippered pouch with cord for our name badges and business cards. I save these and use them for my S & S card, some cash, and my phone (for the HUB). In the evenings I use a little wristlet.

After several cruises, and ongoing head scratching of how to be as unencumbered as possible, I’m buying a waterproof phone case on Amazon. I can take pics thru the transparent case, put my sign and sail along with some cash all in this little lanyard type pouch. Hope it works 😏

I clip my card to my backpack. I carry a backpack because my favorite thing to do on vacation is to read books in exotic locations, so I always carry a book with me everywhere i go. Sometimes two books, just in case. Y'all should cruise with me, I can carry your stuff ;-)

I take a picture of my last 4 Platinum cards, then have that made into a t-shirt which I wear every day. Then I wear my current Platinum card on a lanyard with the work PLATINUM on it. Want to make sure everyone gives me the respect I deserve.

Just kidding! Calm down....

Keep mine in my pocket.

Hubby & I both have these pouches for going to the beach. That way our phone, money, credit card, driver license, ship card is on us & not on the beach in a bag that could be taken. One is a dry pak - I like it because it is a bit quicker to get into with its clamp-style opening, plus, the type of vinyl is soft & not super shiny. The other one is a magellan, I think. It has two baggie-style ziplocks & then folds over and snaps. The vinyl on it is stiffer & shiny. The shiny one is more difficult to see through in the sunshine if you are taking pics/video with your phone. One thing to keep in mind with either one is there is no way for the heat from your phone to escape, so if you are using it a lot, it may overheat.

Wow. I didn't realize that there was so much hate for lanyards. It also never would have occurred to me that it was a way for people to show off their status. That being said.......

I am taking my first cruise in April. I was planning on using a lanyard on the ship being as most of my clothes don't have pockets and I hate carrying a purse. I have a small crossbody bag (when I say small, I mean SMALL) that I was planning to use in port to carry my ID, money, S&S card, and camera.

I was planning on carrying a small clutch to the MDR.

But now I am reconsidering my choices. #lanyardshame 😂😂😂😂😂

My friend bought us some nice blingy lanyards last cruise that were kind of fun but I usually avoid them as it makes me feel like I'm at a trade show. I usually have on shorts with a pocket or carry a very small purse if I have no pocket. I saw some of those springy wristbands at Lowe's a while back and think I'll be getting one of those before my next cruise.

That is a great idea! I have one of those for my gym card to use when I am in the pool. Never thought of using it for my card.

I generally carry a very small cross body purse or wristlet. I use my phone as my camera so need somewhere to carry it too.

I was going to add, I got fun lanyards for my kids' stockings several years back that they still use. They were themes that they liked--favorite movie, music notes etc. They really liked them, it made it obvious which kid it belonged to at a glance and I could just look at each kid quick to make sure they had their cards.

Just put them in your pocket. Wear swim suits with pockets, the cards can get wet with no problem.

For two cards I would use rolling luggage.

You can also have a hole punched in the card and wear it around your neck. For two card, use a backpack to help distribute the weight.

Just got to the party. Had to reply - this is the best answer I've seen on the boards about anything! Thank you for sharing my sense of humor... 🙂

Judging someone else for how they choose to carry their S&S card seems like a lot of effort for a vacation personally.

Sometimes I use a lanyard. Sometimes I use my bag. Sometimes I use my evening clutch. It just depends on what's convenient at the time.

I don’t like lanyards but in parts because I usually have lots of other stuff around my neck, glasses on a chain, camera etc.

but why on earth would I care if someone else chooses to use one

I too have been lanyard shamed. I don't care. It works for its purpose.  I'm on vacation and why do I care if people I will never meet again judge me?  I even got a blingy one on my last cruise.  Looks great on formal night. 😉

Personally I hate lanyards because I have to wear one at work, but that doesn't mean I'm judging anyone else that chooses to use them. To each his or her own.

This is the funniest thread I've seen in a long time.

I have had a custom see -through pocket sewn on the shoulder of ever shirt/dress I bring along.

Then I can display my gold Haven card for all to see.  :classic_biggrin::classic_wink::classic_biggrin:

Actually, I carry mine in a small bag along with my phone.

I use a lanyard when it is convenient.

I also did not know that people don't like lanyards.

I personally love to see them.  I like to see the sparkle and glow of fancy ones.

I like to see the creative ones (the can tabs lanyards are awesome!)

Once we were  in the Haven - (should be called Heaven) and when I put my gold key in the elevator, someone asked me what was up there.

I told them it was an Olympic pool reserved for special guests.

They believed me and I had to change my story.

My opinion is that several lanyard wearers are showing off their status, and the rest are using them for convenience.

If you look around the ship, most Lanyard wearers are Gold and below.  Few Diamond and Platinum's wear lanyards.  But, who cares, put your S&S card where you have easy access to it during the cruise.:classic_cool:

Me, I use my pockets, and in the Casino a telephone cord style lanyard attached to my card and belt loop.  I walked away once and left my card in the machine.  The cord makes sure the card follows you!😊
