nyllrap Posted January 22, 2018 #26 Share Posted January 22, 2018 I was able to use my Diamond voucher for drinks on the Majesty in November. Wish the ability to use the drink vouchers in the Dining room and other dining venues was fleet wide. It was allowable on Oasis Jan 7-14 cruise but not the next day( next cruise) on the Jan 15 Majesty. M
Biker19 Posted January 22, 2018 #27 Share Posted January 22, 2018 Doesn't allowing the D vouchers to be used in the dining room defeat the purpose of them??:halo: What's that - to make it harder to cash them in?
squadron Posted January 22, 2018 #28 Share Posted January 22, 2018 Shelton, I'm curious if they will give you two entrees. I think many people like two appetizers but have never seen anyone want two entrees.
Clarea Posted January 22, 2018 #29 Share Posted January 22, 2018 I think many people like two appetizers but have never seen anyone want two entrees. We've traveled with older teenagers, and it was not uncommon for them to have two entrees. Also, some entrees were pretty small, Garlic Tiger Shrimp comes to mind. I would get a second entree from time to time with that Tiger Shrimp entree.
mafig Posted January 22, 2018 #30 Share Posted January 22, 2018 People order double orders of lobster all the time. Also, if I order two deserts, they always bring both at once.
Rare BillOh Posted January 22, 2018 #31 Share Posted January 22, 2018 You can order as much as you want. Half the menu is a repeat of the night before. Service was very slow last night even though our table only ordered one appetizer. Escargot was cold so had to send it back. Waiters were confused with diamond vouchers.....again. Head Waiter got involved. The shank was as good as always. Curry shrimp was fantastic. Forgot my phone so no pictures Sent from my VS995 using Tapatalk In the few cruises I have been on since the drink packages have been popular, the bar service in the MDR has been awful. But at least if I was using my diamond voucher, I wouldn't have to wait an hour for it, I could just give up and leave. On Adventure last year people would stop on the way and get one to bring into dinner as many drinks were ordered and never delivered. (including coffee a couple of nights)
Rare LMaxwell Posted January 22, 2018 #32 Share Posted January 22, 2018 I think many people like two appetizers but have never seen anyone want two entrees. We order an extra entree between us all the time so we can split the protein portion to try it out. We always ask they deliver it all at once otherwise they do wait to bring the additional item
Canadian Tyler Posted January 22, 2018 #33 Share Posted January 22, 2018 I think many people like two appetizers but have never seen anyone want two entrees. I've seen this many times, usually on lobster night. Some couples get three entrees between the two of them to sample as well.
davekathy Posted January 22, 2018 #34 Share Posted January 22, 2018 (edited) When they serve lobster in the MDR we always order the prime rib to share. A little surf-n-turf. Hope the so called diamond drink vouchers go fleet wide. Edited January 22, 2018 by davekathy
robtulipe Posted January 22, 2018 #35 Share Posted January 22, 2018 When they serve lobster in the MDR we always order the prime rib to share. A little surf-n-turf. Same with us. Did so on Anthem last week.
Milwaukee Eight Posted January 22, 2018 #36 Share Posted January 22, 2018 I think many people like two appetizers but have never seen anyone want two entrees. Lobster night. I generally ask for two when I order. I also like the shrimp cocktail and will order two. Last cruise on Brilliance, instead of bringing two cocktails, the server got creative and made a plateful of shrimp. I was able to share. Beachammo Posted January 23, 2018 Author #38 Share Posted January 23, 2018 Freedom is also allowing passengers to use diamond vouchers in all speciality restaurants. Sent from my VS995 using Tapatalk
cruisegirl1 Posted January 23, 2018 #39 Share Posted January 23, 2018 We just returned from an Oasis B2B with the new menu. There were no restrictions to what one could order from the menu. We often ordered two appetizers with no issue. We had an extra entrée one evening, again no issue. They even encouraged us to order two ( or more) lobster dinners. The menu is a bit limited, but in my opinion, still better than the old "spice" menus. M

SilkySal Posted January 23, 2018 #41 Share Posted January 23, 2018 What happens if you have late seating which is after the DL stops serving? We just stop at any bar on our way to dinner and take it in with us!;)
Biker19 Posted January 23, 2018 #42 Share Posted January 23, 2018 What happens if you have late seating which is after the DL stops serving? Then you would get charged for the drink.
Clarea Posted January 23, 2018 #43 Share Posted January 23, 2018 Then you would get charged for the drink. If you can even find a bar server in the MDR.
Milwaukee Eight Posted January 23, 2018 #44 Share Posted January 23, 2018 Then you would get charged for the drink. Biker has it correct. If DL is no longer serving (FREE drinks), then it is outside the Diamond Cocktail hours. So if you are after FREE drinks, you missed out. MDR is likely to charge you if outside the hours. AnnaDarel Posted January 23, 2018 #46 Share Posted January 23, 2018 I order two entrees all the time. That's one of my favorite parts of cruising. Off-topic, but I never had trouble getting multiple glasses of wine (deluxe package) at dinner from my assistant/drinks waiter. Is that unusual? 1992cruiser Posted January 23, 2018 #48 Share Posted January 23, 2018 If I have the deluxe package, can I use my diamond vouchers for others at the table eating with us? I heard somewhere that sharing is ok with the diamond vouchers.
Biker19 Posted January 23, 2018 #49 Share Posted January 23, 2018 Yes, you can share D voucher drinks - the same way you can share 10 drink card drinks.

I heard somewhere that sharing is ok with the diamond vouchers. They normally don't care if you share your Diamond drink vouchers, though I don't know if their point of sale system is smart enough for the bar people to pick one or the other when someone also has a drink package.
